We stayed five nights at the Olakira Mara Camp during our three week safari. It was a great experience. The game viewing during the calving and wildebeest migration was superb. The tents, which move twice a year with the migration were fantastic ... including the bucket showers....More
Anna and the very friendly staff welcomed us into the tent camp. This is a temporary camp which moves to keep abreast of the migration. The meals were very tasty and plentiful? Our spacious tent was very comfortable and the ensuite was good, with nicely...More

The weather is usually quite warm during August but can get chilly in the early mornings and at night.
Wishing you a wonderful stay!

Hi daegansmummy,
Many thanks for your message.
Please note that Olakira Camp closes for the season in the southern Serengeti on 31st March and only reopens in the northern Serengeti on 1st June.
Dunia Camp however, one of our other camps is open all year around.
In regards the weather this is of course completely unpredictable. One thing is for sure however life in the bush continues, it has almost no impact on game viewing, as the animals still have to hunt and eat and make babies :) and normally that time of the year is BEAUTIFUL green and lush - not dry and dusty and of course it is very quiet - camp will not be full and almost no other people around as it is low season - you will almost have the Serengeti to yourselves.
Hope this info help and we look forward to welcoming you to one of our camps soon.
Best wishes
Nadine from Asilia Africa
