Although all the Serena lodges are lovely, the Serengeti lodge was probably my least favorite. Our room was fairly small and basic, and the hotel was so busy that the buffet dinner on the first night was very crowded and congested. Dinner at most (perhaps all) of the Serena lodges runs from 7:30 - 9:30. We arrived at the restaurant...

Excellent rooms, with very high quality up to date baths; Mosquito netting on tracks around bed, al la hospital privacy screens, was a bit of a nuisance, but necessary. Doors to patio or balcony had no screens, so they could not be left open. Contrary to warnings from travel agency, power was available 24 hours a day. Food was OK...

Three- day stay, October 2016. Lunch on the day of arrival was disturbed by a heavy infiltration of flies, which we were told was due to the presence of many wildebeests around - in fact, by the evening and for the next two days, no more flies. Rooms are spacious, well maintained, provided with mosquito net, but no mosquitoes were...

Amazing location in the serengeti, which also means wild animals are free to roam right up to your door. On an evening you need to ring reception to get an escort up to the main building, so they can scare away any animals. The views from the rooms are beautiful, they all have balconies so you can sit outside and...

I am looking for some adjectives to let you understand how much beautiful is this place but I really won't be able to find anything better than MAGIC. People are lovely - they have prepared a wonderful cake and a surprise for my birthday (on my boyfriend's request) with song, music and all the staff wishing me happy birthday. The...

We stayed in room 34 on September 15, 16, 17, 2016. This is a unique facility. It is built to resemble the native round thatched roof huts, but with all modern conveniences inside. Our room was very comfortable (although we tossed off the blanket when we slept. We only needed the lighter sheet.) They have mosquito netting for the night,...

Most other serena lodges were excellent except this one. Came into a room after a long ride and left shorts with my wallet and sunglasses on the bed. we went for a quick bite but after coming back within an hour, they went through my wallet in the shorts and took out all the cash. Sunglasses were also gone. We...

The best view of the Ngorongoro crater will probably be outside the window of your room. You will be tempted to waste your entire evening taking pictures, as I was. I don't know what these other reviewers saw, but I didn't feel the room was dated at all. Everything was perfectly nice, and the lounge/restaurant area was fantastic. Before dinner,...

The hotel is very impressive. It is not a hotel in a sense since the rooms are scattered around the property in the form of huts. Each hut has two rooms, one on top and on at the bottom. The room size is good, with double bed and mosquito net hanging from the ceiling. The room was clean with basic...
