First impression of the street was a little off-putting, smelt like cat urine and at night seemed dodgy. However once inside it was quaint and homely and a feeling of calm came over us as we enjoyed the traditional Tunisian hospitality.

Warm weather made the first days easier as after that the Dar became very cold and the fan heating somehow doesn't warm the way an indirect heating system does. I preferred the rooms higher up with an external view rather than those overlooking the courtyards...More
