After looking at Wutma hotel and Baro pension (both next door), we ended up at Ankober guesthouse. Its was pricier, 420 birr, we stayed one night. Centraly located, cheap guesthouse with friendly, English speaking staff. The rooms are basic and run down but clean and they have hot water. Mattresses are old and uncomfortable. Rooms are far from street noise. Okay for transit.

Stayed here twice during a visit to Ethiopia. Clean but very basic rooms. Bathroom was clean enough, however no hot water. This wasn't a problem for me. Very friendly and helpful staff. Good stopover hotel. Restaurant across the road is worth a visit too.
