My husband and I started our month-long trip to Madagascar at Maison Gallieni, and this was a great choice. After nearly 19 hours of flights over three days, we were picked up at the airport by our Za Tours guide extraordinaire Michel and driver, and deposited at this lovely location for the night. We were greeted by staff, led to...

The other reviews say it perfectly but this is a wonderful place to stay in Tana a short walk from the stairs down to the center of the city with great views of the city below. The room was great with top amenities (although wifi was working mainly in the lobby). The staff was very helpful and we had a...

We stayed here for two nights - once on the way to Nosy Sakatia(off Nosy Be) and then on our way back home. We were really pleased that we had been recommended this place by Bianca at Icon Expeditions. Antananarivo is a congested and smoggy city and it pays to stay up on a hill. Maison Gallieni, which is part...

I can't really add anything to Andrew C's review, below, other than to echo everything he says. This is a really special place with charming, helpful staff. Everything is of such good quality which, having travelled for sometime in Madagascar, was a refreshing change. The location is great, but it does take time to get to from the airport, so...

The hotel is located in a very quiet area (as a solo female traveller I was advised not to go out on my own - but i am sure it would have been safe!). But I wasn't in Antananarivo for long ( there isn't much to see or do in the city). The staff at the hotel looked after me...

Maison Gallieni is perhaps the best place to stay in Tana right now. I stayed in 4 well known hotels in the capital during the months of March and April 2015, and out of that crop, it was head and shoulders above them all. It definitely cannot be classed as one of the many reasonable (but fading) well established hotels...

We stayed at La Maison Gallieni at a couple of points on our trip and we were delighted with our choice. The rooms were immaculate, the beds very comfortable, bathrooms spacious, and the staff provided the warmest of welcomes on both occasions. We had an evening meal and breakfast on both occasions and lunch on one. The food was excellent...

We stayed at Maison Gallieni twice during our visit to Madagascar. The old mansion has been transformed with a fairly modern interior. On both visits we had the two rooms on the main floor. The room at the front has the bath in a separate room while the room at the back has the shower and basins in the bedroom....

La Maison Gallieni is an excellent boutique residence, home to the Monaco Ambassador who resides on the third floor. The small staff is excellent and the home is very clean and private with just four (4) rooms. Wifi, no charge and fast. The breakfast is lovely with a view and you may request for a small fee to have the...
