I stayed at Cluny for an entire month from mid-Nov to mid-Dec 2011 and wish to recommend it to other visiting consultants very highly indeed. When it comes to report writing, Cluny is an absolutely ideal place to shut oneself away with minimal disturbance. The hosts are incredibly hospitable and respond readily to literally any request for information or help....

I stayed at Cluny Lodge at the end on November prior to participating as a hospital volunteer in Namitete. Owner Marinus was a true host, informing me of all I needed to know about the area. The lodge itself is quiet and serene, very good food (breakfast and dinner) and close to Old Town. Marinus also assisted with transportation to...

I stayed at Cluny Lodge for 2 weeks and it felt it was home away from home. The hosts were simply marvellous and most friendly people. They are so hospitable. I was very busy working on a proposal and they made every effort to ensure that I had power supply and telephone facility. The food is simply marvelous. It was...

We spent 2 weeks in Malawi, primarily for our son's wedding. As our daughter-in-laws family live in Lilongwe we chose the Cluny lodge for its location in the city. As a family group we had 4 double rooms and as these were located in one corridor of one building it was like having a villa all to ourselves. The proprietors...

Not only did we have a comfortable large room, great breakfasts and wonderful dinners, all for a very good price, we also had the benefit of our hosts’ kindness in so many different ways. Priceless! I usually find major shortcomings in some aspect of the facilities or services of hotels and guest houses but not in this case. I whole-heartedly...

This is a very friendly and quite lodge close to the old town. The owners are really helpful and do everything they can to help you. Our luggage for example was delayed by one day, and they made arrangements to pick it up at the airport next day, so we could visit the city. The rooms look very good, there...

Really friendly, nice quiet chill out lodge jam packed with interesting pictures, art and random African nic-naks. The owners - Bev and Marinus are warm and welcoming and were very helpful. The food (3 course dinner) and breakfast were lovely and obviously good quality ingredients. Great location - only a 5/10 minute walk to the crossroads (couple of shops, cafes)....

I was blessed to stay at the Cluny Lodge for three nights in July, and would happily recommend this Lodge to anyone visiting Malawi. The rooms are so beautiful, the food fantastic, and the staff exceptionally warm and accommodating. Our hosts, Bev and Marinus Taale, made my stay a truly memorable experience. They were so warm and friendly - I...

Traveled with a medical team to Likoma Island and stayed here before and after a Safari. This was an absolutely wonderful place to arrive at after 9 days on an island. We were greeted immeadiately by Bev and Marinus. Our accomodations were absolutley divine! I stayed in two different rooms as our stay was broken up and both were beyond...
