I only spent one night here and it did the job, just. I checked out early in the morning, left the room but went back in after one minute thinking I'd forgotten something to find the bed being re-made with the same sheets that I'd slept in....... not good If your on a budget go to St Peters Guest House...

After reading a lot of the old reviews from 2+ years it sounds dumpy but it's quite the opposite now. It's switched management and it called Mufatse Lodge. We have kept our thing there for days and had zero issues with stolen things. We have actually left things and they have called us to get it back. It has great...

My favourite backpacker lodges of all time. Very clean, gorgeous complex. The staff were absolutely lovely and the amenities were great. The gardens were wonderfully maintained and the whole experience was great.

A welcoming family and great hospitality. I was one of the few guests and got a room to myself for the price of one bed. I felt very safe travelling by myself, staying here. Great wifi connection at 10 kwacha/minute. The location was within easy walking distance to the main shopping area of Lilongwe and craft market. It is basic...

My husband and I just spent one week at Mufatse. We were warmly welcomed upon our arrival by all of the staff. As we are travelling for two years, we were excited to find cheap accommodation for camping (they even gave us a bit of a discount as we were staying for a full week and were trying to travel...

This lodge has changed its name to Mufatse. On the upside the location is very convenient and the rooms at least are relatively clean, but that is about where the good bits end. It is way overpriced ($25 for a double room) for the quality of the place. The bathrooms are in disrepair and there are not really enough of...

A shabby place. Dirty bathroom. Only cold shower. Ugly breakfast room. The big garden looks like a landfill. We left after 1 night and looked for another place in Lilongwe. To mention also something positive: It's very close to Old Town.

This is not the mufasa backpackers in Lilongwe as mentioned in the Lonely planet! The old Mufasa backpackers was shut down by the government and is now called MufaTsa. There is no swimming pool and the Christian owner doesn't want to sell beers so the bar is shut down. COCKROACHES everywhere in the kitchen. If you want to toast a...

This place is quite depressing, they really need to update it. The bathroom was dirty and full of spiders/webs, although I can't say they didn't clean because everyday they were scrubbing the floors outside, just don't know why they didn't do the bathroom. The staff were friendly enough. We stayed in a double room and were told only 1 breakfast...
