When I visited the hotel in July 2018, I was critical of the service, particularly the attitude of the reception staff and internet provider, and wrote a review accordingly. However, I was pleasantly surprised when I stayed there again in January 2019 (my 3rd visit). It is

Our main concern is for the safety of future guests. The room is on two levels with the bed on the upper level the drop is about one metre and there is a horizontal bamboo pole that prevents a person getting out of bed from falling over the edge but it does not go the full

Dear B5550WSwilliamp, I would like to take this opportunity to thank both you and your husband for your direct feedback, as well as for taking the time to review your experience of Latitude 13 here. Safety and comfort are the main concerns we have for our guests, and though our room designs follow our overall philosophy of being anything but those of formulaic, copy & paste hotels that could be located in any city, of any country of the world, they are equally designed to be safe. The Garden Suite that you stayed in for your overnight visit is indeed on two levels, with the entrance and lounge area located on the lower of these, and the bedroom, and very spacious bathroom on the upper. The rail that is installed is well installed, and space between this and the edge of the bed is approx. 2m, which gives ample room for movement, even in the dark. I am very disappointed to hear that you did not like the style of the furniture - and indeed the decor, as mentioned in your response to our feedback questionnaire. Our design - both interior as well as architectural - is something we are extremely proud of. As I mentioned, our aim is to approach African lifestyle hospitality by embracing all of the very best that the continent, and in particular the country, has to offer, with a modern twist. We are proud to have been celebrated for this philosophy in a great many international publications - and our collaboration with the social impact projects that create a lot of the art, decor and furniture, and the impact that these have on the lives of so many people is very precious to us. Two of these projects in particular have taken cleaning up the areas immediately around them to new levels, by recycling and up cycling items that were just discarded - giving them a new lease of life, and in the process, pushing the boundaries of their own ingenious skillsets to a new level. Being able to help them to create further employment, and giving them an outlet in which to showcase their craftsmanship is integral to who we are as a brand. I do hope that you had a safe long trip home - and that perhaps you will come back and experience one of the other room types that we offer to our guests. If I had known of your concerns when you checked in, I most certainly would have ensured that you were moved to a room that offered you more piece of mind, and perhaps had decor or furniture more to your liking - as no two rooms at Latitude 13 are exactly alike in their makeup! Wishing you all the best!

This is a very beautiful place with nice staff and smiling people. The rooms are original and very nice looking. The water supply is a bit unstable but you forget it when you sit by the pool at night. A small paradise in an unfortuneately poor country.

So this hotel is really beautiful. And during the early part of the day and most of the weekday it is a little oasis. The rooms are large, gorgeously designed, many have small kitchens. The restaurant is fairly good and also beautifully designed. The staff is friendly. That

Dear veruca68, Thank you so much for writing a review of your experience with us. I would like to start with an apology for the disruption of your enjoyment of the property because of the events. We do have events from time to time, and try wherever possible to ensure that these don't inconvenience our guests - I'm disappointed to hear that this wasn't the case during your stay. I would disagree that we are targeting a different audience to business travellers - in fact we have even recently refurbished part of the original building on the property specifically for meeting and workspace for those guests that are staying with us for business, and don't wish to bring work "home", so to speak. Nevertheless, I have ensured that Management is fully aware of your concerns, so that in future more adequate steps are taken to make sure that guests are not inconvenienced. We hope that we will be able to welcome you back to Latitude 13 again soon! Best wishes
