I stayed in this hotel for 4 nights because we had a large conference in their facilities. The hotel is extremely bare and bland, it has no character whatsoever. Formally, it may have all the features of a 5*-Hotel, but everything is of the minimum. Start with the sausages on the breakfast buffet (they look like the cheapest, offputting sausages...

The Hotel is clean and has all the basic necessities, although there is only wi-fi in the reception area. The Bathrooms are tired and need to be revamped and breakfast is basic... to say the least. I would recommend it for the businessman who is looking for a no frills place to spend his time in Maputo, although not that...

The VIP claims to be five star, but it is more like a two or three star hotel with five star prices. The only reason I stayed there is the proximity to my client’s office, but in the future I will be staying at the Cardoso, which is on a totally different level of quality. The hotel is fairly nondescript,...

Went for business trip to Maputo and had a pleasant stay. Hotel staff was at times a bit clueless but other were good. Had to extend my stay but they got the booking wrong and locked me out of my room, after asking to speak to the manager, he eventually got the confirmation and sorted it out. Room was comfortable...

After my last review, which was less than flattering, I must compliment the GM Raul Santos, who communicated his disappointment at my experiences there. My husband and I stayed there again, to give it another chance on 8 and 9 August and were very pleasantly surprised! Although there are still major renovations to take place to take the hotel to...

I was on a business trip to Maputo for 2 weeks and the company booked me at this hotel. I read the reviews and it was not encouraging however, when I was finally there, everything was alright. The room is clean, new, and good-sized. I was put in a room with 2 beds so I asked to be transferred to...

Stayed here for a week. This is the 3rd hotel I've stayed in in Maputo and none of them are very exciting. Every hotel in town seems to have a small empty pool. I don't understand why no one has a pool big enough where one can actually exercise. What is the point of having a small empty pool? When...

A nice hotel, but not your normal 5 star service. Staff were not particularly helpful and there was no one to meet you in the breakfast dining room and show you to a table. Tyring to get coffee or tea was a bit of a challenge as the staff seemed to avoid you unless you waved them down across the...
