The guest house is very nice and the food is good. The owner speaks English very well, but her "manager" (when the owner is not there) speaks nearly no English. There is no card facilities and the local ATM do not allow huge amounts of cash draw. When we wanted to check out, the owner was not there or available...

Nice place and rooms are good size and nice. Bars and restaurants within walking distance, and I recommend Christals. But I found it strange that there is really no reception area when you check in or access your room. The lounge, reading area and breakfast area and garden are just behind in a different building that you enter by going...

The Palmeiras Guest House is conveniently located in Maputo, with off-street parking, clean rooms and a lovely breakfast area. My only negatives would be that they don't accept payment via bank card, only cash (even if booked online). This can cause a problem as the local ATM only allows small withdrawals, with fees for each one and poor exchange rates....

We only spent a night but we found everything from the enquiry, to checking in and checking out be friendly, helpful and efficient. Palmeira's is located centrally in Maputo, situated in a leafy area close to the British embassy. The accommodation is homely and comfortable, and the I continental breakfast included in the rate was perfect. I highly recommend this...

A wonderful guesthouse in the heart of Maputo. Recommended by Mozambique Horse Safari Vilanculos. It is very central so easy to get a taxi and close to most amenitites. It has a warm and friendly atomosphere and a wonderful place for our guests to stay before they come to Vilanculos.

The guest house is very well located in the "center" of Matola City. The room (family) was not fancy but spacious, clean and comfortable, very friendly staff, a beautiful courtyard, clean pool and good security.

I stayed at the Guest House for 1 night in December and found it to be spotlessly clean with beautiful African décor. The room was equipped with all amenities that you would need to make your stay very comfortable. The breakfast was delicious with a variety of choices, hot and cold, especially as it was advertised as a continental breakfast....

The first night we stayed, I wasn't too happy about it. The room we had wasn't in the main building where the reception was, so we had to walk a bit to the gate next door, which was quite inconvenient. I also found a cockroach in the bathroom. That being said, the owner was super nice and kind, and prepared...

We recently passed through Maputo twice, once staying at Palmeiras and once in the city so we could see some of it. We should have stayed at Palmeiras both times! The guest house is a oasis from the city. Built around a completely enclosed courtyard, the rooms are spacious, very clean, well furnished, cool, and blissfully quiet. Our Portugeses hosts...
