I stayed here with a group of teachers, also with Carl Wilkens (the only American to remain in Rwanda during the 1994 genocide.) We had no idea what to expect from a hotel/guest house in Rwanda, but we were all very pleasantly surprised by this guest house! The employees are all super nice, and very attentive to your needs. If...

My husband & I stayed at the Elegancya for a month this past summer and very much enjoyed our stayed. The managers, Bill & Ivan, became our friends and went the extra mile to accommodate our needs. We led two different groups - the first 2 weeks with high school students and the last 2 weeks with educators. Both groups...

I organized a trip for 16 students and faculty to study the genocide with Carl Wilkens-the only American to stay behind during the 1994 genocide- and his wife, Teresa. We spent two weeks at The Elegancya and couldn't have been happier with the experience. The service was impeccable, and the hotel was utterly gorgeous. The manager, Bill, took wonderful care...

My wife and I reserved a room at Elegancya in July 2012 for couple of days. My wife choosed a specific room for the sun we wanted on our room. When we arrived to Elegancya, we were told that the room we reserved was finally reserved for a group of people that wanted couple of rooms included that one. The...

The staff was really nice and helpful. At least for me, I was happy that they were willing to get me transportation when I needed it for a very good price instead of getting ripped off like they were trying to do at Okapi Hotel. They even let me stay at the room after checking out since my flight was...

I have tried several 'bed and breakfast' hotels in Kigali and Elegancya has to be one of the best. True, we started badly as they forgot to pick us up at the airport (apparently the person who had taken our reservation didn't work on the day we arrived, so the message hadn't got though!), but the hotel made it up...

Elegancya is located in a great spot that looks into the valleys of Kigali. It is a small, cosy guesthouse in a lovely garden setting. The staff are excellent, with the Manager Bill meeting us at the airport and especially Ronald who is extremely attentive to all questions and in assisting with local information. He even walked us to the...

Hotels are expensive in Rwanda, and there are only 2 hostels. This hotel is in a quiet neighborhood on a hillside across from the city center, but there are 4-5 restaurants right beside it and dozens of NGO's. Airport pickup is free, and we got a very warm welcome from Bill (the manager). The room was very clean, and everyone...

Just returned from the Elegancya and it was amazing. The staff is so helpful and treats you like family. Everyone is so nice and accommodating, they truly just want you to have the best time you possibly can while in Rwanda. The food was delicious and the service was great. There is a guard 24/7 so you are very safe!...

I stayed here with a group of 8 in July/August 2011 and we all had a great experience at this bed and breakfast. The rooms were very clean, the view from the dining area was beautiful, and the food was delicious. Most importantly, the staff was so warm and welcoming and accomodated every need that we had. They went above...
