What a beautiful guesthouse. Pros: • Staff - Ruth and Ibra have a wonderful cohort of staff, extremely friendly and very helpful! • Rooms - very large, spotless, fans, electricity plugs, desks, clean bathrooms, large mosquito nets • Location - whilst it may not be in the centre of town, as a tourist- I much preferred this location. Very local,...

Right on a beautiful beach. Great view from the roof. Great friendly staff. Very nice and clean rooms. I would definitely recommend this place. Only downside, not very close to the city. I would recommend taking a taxi, but bargain hard (I usually paid around 3,000-3,500 cfa). The bus is agonisingly hot, crowded, slow and takes about 1-1/2 hours. I...

My stay was brief, only one night arriving late and leaving very early but this place left a great impression. I was with a friend and she had a chance to take some daytime pictures which I have included. Even at night, the view of the ocean was really nice. The bed was very comfortable and they accommodated us to...

I stayed in Keur Diame in October 2014, the hottest month to visit Dakar. The location is good, right behind the beach, providing the soothing sounds of the breaking waves and a cool sea breeze you can enjoy in the courtyard. That is where I spent most of my time. Be aware that it is a twenty minute taxi drive...

Dear Marc Thank you for your rating. I have read with pleasure. The more so as it is the first review for our new house that we moved in August 2014. Your review makes me happy, especially because it shows me that I have taken with the new house the right way. Thank you for your nice words and I...

far away from centre - the beach is not nice - expensive for the level, the bed is very bad, sometimes it brakes down. The staff ist friendly. It is noisy in the morning, you can hear every word which is spoken in the courtyard - the windows are to the aigle, so there is also less fresh air. To...

Comming back out of the noisy, colourful chaos of bustling Dakar city I always enjoyed the quiet and homelike atmospere of this little hotel. You can sit together with Ruth the friendly owner sipping together a glas of red vine and listen to her experiences and advices from Senegal. She was all over! As well I had easily contact to...

The auberge is further from the city than I had realised (about 19 kms from downtown) and that is both a positive and a negative. It does mean a bit of time & money spent on taxis, but it also means staying in an area that is safe, peaceful and far from the madding crowd. Ruth and Ibra are terrific,...

This small hotel of 10 rooms is in Parcelles Assainies, about 30 minutes away from Dakar city centre – 3000 CFA in a taxi. It is just a minutes walk from Yoff's Atlantic beach which stretches endlessly in both directions. The ten rooms are on two floors, set around a small courtyard where you can take drinks or eat snacks....

The Keur Diame Auberge is a safe haven in one of the beach suburbs of Dakar. The nearby beach itself is spectacular, but not for lying in the sun and bathing - the currents are too dangerous for swimming, but it is good for walks. The Auberge is very airy with lots of light coming from a central atrium that...

Owned bu a swiss lady, Ruth Isenschmid, who is non resident but visits often, this clean and welcoming auberge is suited to backpackers and travellers looking for a clean african guest house. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The "House of Peace" is located in an outer-quarters of Dakar, not far from the airport. A small, familiar guesthouse in the evening you can relax after your excursions in the city center. A few steps from the house is the beautiful beach of Yoff Cimetiere.                                                    We attach great importance to cleanliness and safety. The hostel has 7 rooms in 3 different categories. We have rooms with private bathroom (with hot water) and those which share the bathroom (hot water). One of the rooms is equipped with air conditioning, the others with fans. The windows are protected with mosquito nets, on request we can mount mosquito nets over the bed. Breakfast is included in the room rate. On order, we are preparing for the lunch and dinner in our beautiful restaurant. We spoil you with meals from Senegal and Europe. On our beautiful terrace overlooking the sea and in our cozy garden perfect places to relax. My team and I have worked together for several years. So now we have grown into a little family together and the welfare of our guests is very important to us. If desired, we can help to organize inland trips. We cooperate with reliable drivers / guides. These are available to our guests along with their cars. In Dakar itself offer trips into the city center. There are colorful markets, many small shopping streets, the harbor district, magnificent mosques, interesting museums, the old train station in the colonial style and generally admire the hustle and bustle of an African metropolis. ... more   less
