Fantastic location, magnificent view and great time guaranteed in desert. We went on a family trip (in april 2014, and actually we were four families, with a bunch of kids ranging between 2ys old to 14ys) and we all had a great time. Great service, good food, excellent hosts, very hospitable people with great stories ... everything that we were... More

If you've come out to Bagrawiya to see the UNESCO World Heritage site "pyramids of Meroe," you don't have much choice for spending the night. The Meroe Tented Camp is pretty much it, and pricey for the budget traveler. But what you discover when you get there is a truly unique experience of basic amenities adapted with extraordinary sensitivity to... More

Sylvia was our hostess. Service was excellent, food fantastic and a wonderful setting. A new dining room and lounge was under construction which will lift the tented camp to new heights. The tents and bedding are not styled as luxury safari tents but are comfortable. We lacked hot water but then in the hot dessert this is not a major... More

Wonderful location on an escarpment overlooking the distant pyramids and it's well worth hiring a camel and riding to them for dawn or dusk. If you are lucky you will have them to yourself - it's worth every penny, even if you are a novice on a camel and have a sore bottom for the next 2 days! If you... More

I was a bit dubious about this before my trip but the facility is really good in a very Sudanese sort of way. The tents are a lot like hotel rooms, with electricity and proper beds and the facilities are complete, even down to the fluffy towels and shaver point. That said it is still camp and a little basic... More

This is an amazing experience, to camp by pyramids. The tent is well appointed with proper beds and crisp white sheets. You have your own toilet block a short (5 metres) walk away with toilet and shower. You need a torch! It was very hot and unfortunately we didn't listen to our friends who said they were leaving their tent... More

A trip to Meroe is highly recommended if you are spending some time in Sudan. 3-4 hour drive from Khartoum, the journey is worth it for a completely contrasting experience to the city. The tented camp is well catered, maintained and staffed. The desert location is stunning at all times of day. We arrived early evening and dinner was served... More

We stayed at the Meroe Tented Camp for one night during a trip to see the Meroe Pyramids. What a treat! The tents were neat, clean, and roomy. Ours had two beds, a desk, chair, and two side tables. They also provide extra blankets in the event that it is cold, but we did not need them. Each tent faces... More

This tented property has a spectacular view over the Meroe pyramids. Watching sunset from your tent terrace is perfect way to relax at the end of the day. Although the tents are somewhat older, they suffice to make for a nice sleep. There is electricity from a generator (which you don't hear) until about 10PM. Each tent has it's own... More

Very convenient location to the Meroe Pyramids. The Italian Tourism Company in Sudan does a very nice job with both properties. We felt right at home. It's nice to be greeted with a welcome drink an fresh dates. The tents were as advertised and comfortable. The bathrooms were a nice treat after spending multiple nights in the desert. I never...
