Considering this isn't a very old hotel, the shoddy design and maintenance is amazingly poor. Not at all worth the >$200 per night rate and Marriott should think twice about having its name affiliated with the hotel. The driver was late for both mine and my boss' airport

Came back to give this hotel another go after an average stay a year ago. What a mistake. My colleagues room had an AC over his bed which dripped water on the bed all night. The do called ground suite I was in had the smallest bathroom where one literally had to step over the

Ok - not many people get to spend 3 months in a hotel. Not many hotels really feel like a second home. I did spend about three months this year at the Protea. What makes this hotel special is the people - I hesitate to call them staff as everyone from the security, porters,

The hotel is nice, the people that work there are helpful and try and solve all your problems. Location is great close to some really good restaurants and the limited shopping available in Kampala. The rooms are clean and comfortable but the hotel could do with a renewal. It

Thank you for the response and for the questions raised. 1. Internet has been an issue in the past, we have however made some changes to our service to enable faster access and speeds. Currently have dedicated fibre optic cables coming directly into the hotel with a dedicated bandwidth of 4Mb up and 4Mb down. We are finding that at certain times of day that the internet connectivity is slower so we have but boosters and more radio points into the hotel to improve the service. However at certain times of year it is a country wide issue that internet everywhere is slow. We will continue to do our best to improve the service and offer high speed internet to our GUESTS. 2. Room sizes offered at Protea Hotel Kampala are larger than most 4 star hotels in Europe and on a par with room sizes for 4 star hotels in Africa. However if a GUEST does feel the room is too small, we encourage them to please give us feedback directly at the front desk and if we have the availability we always offer a room move. Comfort of our GUESTS is important to us. 3. Price comparison wise Protea Hotel Kampala offers rates lower than other hotels of the same standard and quality in Kampala. Our services are limited in the way that we do not have a health spa or pool. Service comparison is a subjective personal perception of each GUEST.
