Our stay here was the best part of our trip. We so enjoyed sitting on the porch in rockers in the evening. The fresh cookies were wonderful. The rooms were large and comfortable and quiet. The hostess, Adrian, was so kind and friendly. She is an astounding chef - breakfast was beyond delicious!

The house is a historic gem well preserved and very comfortable. It has tons of charm and character with modern comforts. Breakfast was delicious. We appreciated the availability of beverages at any time in the dining room. So many things to see in Abilene or do nothing but sit on the porch and enjoy a small town. We had fun...

Let me start off by saying the home is on a beautiful tree-lined street that backs up to a small park. The home itself was full of older character and charm. We enjoyed an evening stroll in the park. I'm afraid I have to give neutral feedback on this stay due to the fact that I was not informed upon...

We are very sorry that the sound of a train was disruptive to your sleep. Trains have been a very big part of Abilene's history since 1867. Abilene was the end of the Chisolm trail and the shipping point for cattle shipped east from here. We were very glad to be able to accommodate your breakfast requests. The room you...

The owners were very friendly and helpful and easy to talk to. The house was decorated very tastefully and comfortably in the appropriate period for the house. There were many wonderful things to feast your eyes upon from room to room that for an artist and person who appreciates antiques it kept us busy for quite some time! The breakfast...

The positivies: The hosts were very accommodating with our diet restrictions and also helpful with area restaurant choices. The main floor of the house is lovely and inviting; we enjoyed the music and the decor. We stayed on the top floor, "The Nest," which was very spacious for our family. The Nest has a small kitchenette and common area with...

We were very happy to be able to accommodate your need for a gluten and dairy free breakfast. We were disappointed to read that you did not care for the decorations in your room. This home is very historic (circa 1887) and most guests appreciate that we have tried to decorate the home to the time period as well as...

The Inn is a delightful, fully restored 8 bedroom/bath house, built in the 19th century. Our room was large with a second floor deck and a very comfortable bed. Breakfast, by Adrian, was a real treat - highly recommend. Ike used to visit his best friend Swede at the house.

We spent a lovely afternoon and evening at this spot, fully appreciating the warm hospitality and yummy food. The fresh from the oven cookies were a special treat! We would (and will) recommend this inn to all visitors to Abilene.

We'll start with the good... The property is very attractive, well maintained, clean, spacious, and very convenient to the Eisenhower Library. It is located on a very picturesque street with a number of attractive Victorians lining the street. The property is very historic in that it was the home of President Esisenhower's boyhood friend. As with most reviews that are...

We were dismayed to read your review and discover that apparently the conversation you had with Adrian (the Chef) concerning breakfast was misunderstood. Her statement to you about the breakfast being hand prepared and served to you was in response to your statement about only needing a continental breakfast. If you had stated that you would eat only toast for...

My wife and I stayed here for a short get away for our anniversary. We couldn't have been more pleased. The building and decor were lovely. But, the food was amazing. Adrian is a wonderful chef (and a lovely person). My wife tries to eat gluten free. The homemade gluten free creations were delicious. And, my regular breakfast was superb....

My parents and I recently traveled to Abilene to visit family. Abilene's Victorian Inn is our home away from home, and we look forward to visiting with Adrian and Jay every time! This trip we stayed in the "Nest" -- a cozy three-bedroom apartment on the very top floor. We love having a central living area and little kitchen, and...
