I stayed at Shangri-la several times during a recent trip to Nepal. I absolutely love this place. Room rates are a bit more than other hostels around the Jyatha area ($7-$9/night), but the few extra dollars are well worth it. The rooms are extremely clean, warm, and comfortable. Additionally, the beds were the most comfortable and warmest that I experienced...

Shangri La is in a great location close to the main hub but far enough away that it is peaceful. Food was great and the staff were super friendly and welcoming - would definitely stay again/recommend. *stayed here over New Years Eve, had to look elsewhere to 'party' so I wouldn't say that this is a 'party hostel/hotel' based upon...

Plenty of hotel options everywhere. Thamel is main tourist area. This property is fine, hot shower, comfy bed, and OK WI Fi but I would not pay more than about $20 or 2000 NPR for this property. Back packers inn next door worked fine for me after they raised rate to $30 prior to second stay.

Located in one of the by-lanes of busy Thamel, Shangri-la is a small, but cosy property that will not burn a whole in your pocket. Although we went with a 1-year old baby in tow, it is ideal for couples or single travelers looking to explore Kathmandu. The host Keshab Kharki and his team are absolutely amazing with guests -...

Shangri-la's location is not on the busy street so it's a little quiet in the area. The rooftop though is one chill place to eat and meet fellow travelers. Free breakfast didn't disappoint. Servings were big and you have all that you need to start your day. I stayed at the dorm and I was comfortable. Sheets were clean and...

I was made to feel incredibly welcome here, particularly as a solo traveller. Staff and management went over and above to make sure I was looked after. Ideally located in Thamel and walking distance to most central attractions and the shopping district.

Staying here at the Shangrila Boutique Hotel has been absolutely outstanding! The Director Keshab has been bending over backwards going above and beyond to bring customer satisfaction to guests alike making this stay so comfortable. There's plenty of additional services available straight from here including visas and adventures out into Nepal etc. it's definitely worth taking a bit of time...

I would highly recommend staying at the shangrila boutique hotel. The staff are amazing, they are so helpful and if it wasn't for them we wouldn't have enjoyed our time in Nepal half as much as what we did. The owner (kk) helped us with booking accommodation and transport for the Annapurna trek, and made sure we had one of...

Very inflexible hostel! I booked for 2 nights and decided after one night to stay with friends in another accommodation. I expected to get my money back for the second night, but no refund of my money. Even the hotel manager wouldn't do anything. That's why i call this hotel very inflexible and disappointing!
