Off but near the centre Thamel shopping area. 10 min walk you can access most famous restaurants and bars. Friendly staff there, and the two owners are licensed trekking guides. Bimal took me for a 5 days Pokhara and Annapurna trip. Though the weather was not so friendly, it was an great experience. Have not tried any food there, but...

Nice place, good atmosphere, you feel safe there. I had top room 402, wonderful. Bit of noise from neighboring guesthouse's, but no fuzz. Up the road supercheap, local dining. Lots of foreigners, but away from usual "Thamel-crowd".. Go for it...

I had a really good stay at Family Peace House. It runs like a typical Kathmandu guest house. Your food might take a while (over an hour for dinner one night) and you might have to wait 30 mins for a roll of toilet paper, but it's Nepal! Just sit back, relax and wait. There are a lot of people...

I stayed in Family Peace for almost two months. The location is perfect, just outside of the busy streets of Thamel in a quiet alley. And still within only 2 minutes of walking you're in the middle of where touristic life happens. The small garden gives a good place to hang if you don't feel like going out for a...

I had a great time at Family Peace House. Well located just outside of Thamel and walking distance from Asan market and Durbar Square, in a quieter/less touristy area. The rooms are clean and most have their adjacent bathroom with hot water (solar and electric, so hot most of the time). Beautiful views of Kathmandu from the rooftop, including from...

We stayed here for two nights whilst exploring Kathmandu. Room was clean and comfortable, hot water was plentiful and WiFi worked well. They offer cheap food, with the breakfasts being particularly good. Staff were great, very helpful and friendly. It's located on a quiet side street, so was a little hard to find first time, bit it's actually a good...
