Have stayed at the Red Planet on multiple occasions. Always a great experience. Even after the earthquake, they remained open. Guest rates vary depending upon the time of the year, but are always very reasonable. Rooms are small, clean, and efficient. The hotel is conveniently located in the Thamel district, but is off the main streets, so look for the...

We stayed one night and things were fine, came back two weeks later and a nearby club's blasts their bands music and punters kept us up til 3am on a Monday night. Thought it was random but the following night, the music wafts through like a two week old trekking sock. Ear plugs were replaced by ear buds and more...

Such a cleen place, such a nice and wellcoming place. So many services (even postcards), the staff does the maximum to make you feel at home. Value for money- guaranteed! The rooftop is a lovely place to read and have some tea/coffee. Some rooms have lovely balconies. Really enjoyed my stay.

I used to come to KTM for last 8 years - I have stayed in many hotels, but hospitality, kidness you can feel from this place right from the beginning. Niti at the recepction will help you with anything. Service is great. The hotel is located in a heart of Thamel, with just 1-2 minutes walking distance to the main...

I stayed here with a medical missions group in 2015. The owner and his family treated us as family members. I wanted to hire someone to guide me through Durbar Square, but the owner would not hear of it--he sent his daughter and her son with us. We had tea at her sister's house. His son-in-law drove me back on...

I love everything about this hotel. Its inexpensive, clean, realiable with hot water and wifi. My favourite thing about red planet is the beautiful staff. I was so lucky to stumble upon this hotel after paying way too much the night before in kathmandu. Nitti and her family are all extremely beautiful people. I also met other really cool characters...

Rooms are good and staff were friendly and location is quiet away from thamels hassle. But the caretaker introduced me to an agent Jonardhan from Adventure Maypole. This agent was not good. This Jonardhan guy totally robbed me, and my guide also. I repeat, do not book any trek through Adventure Maypole.

I am biased cause I have befriended and love the people in the hotel. They would help you with anything they can. Been coming back for two years and enjoy their hospitality every time. The only problem this year was those loud rock and disco gigs in the middle of the night in Thamel :( But it is out of...

I have been staying at Hotel Red Planet since the first year it opened. Reliable accommodation right in the very center of Thamel, but on a quieter side alley / street. Staff very welcoming and friendly. Good value. This is a budget hotel. Safe and secure.

“Corner 2nd floor is roomy and bright, with several beds. My room, 208, has a small terrace and good bathroom and shower with solar-heated warm water. There is also a nice sunny area on roof to lounge in. Again, staff was terrific.”
