It is quiet, friendly place not far from Tamel. The rooms are could do with some improvements but are generally in acceptable condition. Breakfast/dining have a touch of the old Kathmandu about it, Lots of interesting people stay in the place and breakfast dinner conversations can be very interesting. The staff is very helpful. Excellent value for money.

Although the legendary garden is no longer part of the facilities, The Yellow House still offers budget accomodation and great atmosphere. French is recommended, but English and Nepali are also spoken.

The best thing of this place is the white bed sheets and towels. The staff is nice and really polite. In my opinion the whole place needs a paint wash, rooms, corridors and toilets look dirty, specially the shared toilets. My room was sunny, comfortable and cheap.

Located at 5 mins walk from thamel high street, yet on a peaceful tiny hill in paknajol. Lovely people, a family run place, n welcoming staff made it a very good stay. Nice restaurant n good food. Rooms are spacious n clean. Ideal place if you want some peace.

The Yellow House is a fairly basic place. The rooms are spacious, if a bit threadbare. Wifi comes and goes, as does the TV reception, but it's not horrible. The location is excellent for walking and exploring, and the breakfast was one of the best I've ever had.

This is a very centrally located hotel. I stayed with my wife and two other couples for 2 days. Power cuts in the afternoon happen all over Kathmandu. The staff were helpful and friendly. Beautiful views of the mountains from each terrace. I recommend the top floor for more privacy and better views!

We stayed there on our first night in Nepal. Kathmandu is a huge and noisy city. Even though the Yellow House is located in the Thamel, it is very quiet and we cannot hear much noise from there and the atmosphere is very peaceful. The stuff is friendly and there is good food and free wifi. The bedroom are spacious...

A couple of minutes walking away from Thamel's hussle and busstle, is the wonderful quiet and relaxed Yellow House. Run by the most friendly people, employing fantastic staff and offering clean and spacious rooms, it's an absolute topper in KTM! We loved staying here and will certainly return!
