I originally thought this Shangri-la belongs to the worldwide Shangri-la chain. Although found out at the end it wasnt, the stay was in fact not bad. Front desk staff were attentive and fast. Breakfast at Lost Horizon was average but had all the basic items. The room I had on 3rd floor was abit tired but was clean and had...

I stayed at shangri la and wasn't a pleasant stay. For that amount you can get amazing facilities and food in Kathmandu. Room service just entered the room when I was in bed. It's a show and just poor management. They are hospitable but surely do not qualify and even close to a five star standard.

The hotel is lovely and the staff are very polite & friendly. We loved the beautiful garden/lawn.The location is also convenient- away from the chaos of the busy streets but located so conveniently that we could reach Thamel ( for shopping ) in 8-10 mins(without traffic). We ordered Nepalese food & burgers via room service on our last night of stay and...

This hotel is basically a 3 star hotel with shangri la brand..rooms are old fashioned..bathrooms leak..room service is horribly slow..have to call twice or thrice to get even a dental kit..food is ok..prices are high..proper 3 stars at less price and better service are available...casino is pretty small..

The Reception staff (males) were unfriendly. I wanted to arrange for a taxi to a business meeting and they were not helpful. The lady secuity guard was far more helpful. Recommend asking her to hail a taxi from the road side. Don't use the one taxi parked at the Hotel. He charges exorbitant prices. The room was a disaster! The...

Spent the Christmas weekend. Good for a quiet stay, although situated alongside a busy street. Reception and lobby is just in from the street and car park, without any garden space. The front office and other staff were very pleasant and welcoming. Room, washroom and other premises were well maintained and the bed was comfortable. Had a road-side room but...

The service of the hotel is one of the best in Kathmandu and nothing negative I could find. Room is furnished with much of wood in a traditional way vary comfortable, cozy and relaxing. I used the laundry service, the finish was wonderful for its price. Breakfast is in much varieties so if your stay is not short, it is...

Excellent Hotel and staff; friendly but not familiar and technically sound. Buffet breakfast excellent and a la carte dinner menu full of local and international choices. Close to British Embassy and not too far from the "tourist" centre that is Tamel. Very good tailor OPERA nearby made me two pairs of trousers that fit like a glove.
