Dead-eyed and disinterested (as mentioned by the reviewer above) sounds about right. Service was almost non-existent. At first it seemed like a pretty good deal - 700 Rs. (off-season) after bargaining for a room with a big bed (instead of two separate beds), hot shower, tv and wifi. But then reality sets in: the tv is grainy at best, wi-fi... More

We went to this hotel to spend the last days of our trip to Nepal. The place looks very nice and seems to be a lot more quiet than places that one can find in Thamel. That was only the impression because the fact is that it was the only place that we've been to Nepal that you couldn't have... More

Poor. Two main issues: first, the dead-eyed, disinterested, highly made-up young ladies who manned reception; second, they bunged us in a room which had a connecting door - to their living room. No possibility of preventing entrance through it, and the room was dark and dingy. The free wifi has helpful - in finding other travellers' reviews of the place.... More

Overall, the place was fine for the price. Sure, the bathrooms did not work well, but that was the case in almost every place I stayed. On the day I left, I did not need to leave for the airport until 4 pm, so I asked the manager if I could check out of my room at 2:00 pm, instead... More

Pros: Free wifi, garden, and cable TV Cons: We took a room with a shared bathroom, which didn't work out well. To get a hot shower, the electric gyser must be switched on a half hour ahead of time. I would switch it on and go back to my room to wait, only to have some clueless Tibetan guests jump... More

We paid 850 NR for a double with ensuite. The Pema Lhamo Guest House is in a good location but compared to similar priced accommodation nearby, we found it to be expensive and dirty. When we asked for the bathroom to be cleaned - the girl came with a rag and only cleaned the wash basin! There was hot water... More

During our stay in Pema Guest House we booked a room in the same guest house for a friend of ours. On March 6, the evening before his arrival, the manager (Mr. Lobsang Chodak) assured us the room was still available. It proved out it wasn't when our friend arrived, and there were no other rooms available. To make things... More

after getting sick of staying Thamel we decided to move to Boudha for the last 2 days of our time in Nepal. This district is much less touristy with many monestaries (if you stay here you will hear the monks singing as the sun rises at 5am). our room was spacious and clean with an attached bathroom and a good... Boudha(-nath) is in our opinion definitely the best place to stay in Kathmandu. Relaxed, friendly and quiet compared with the city itself. Pema is a friendly guesthouse with a nice garden and terrace to relax. Located a few hunderd meters at the far right end side from the stupa, in between some monestaries. Our bedroom was ok and clean, the... More

Room without AC and with attached bathroom for 700 NPR. (S-11). From an accommodation point of view, this lonely planet hotel is the most genuine experience we had in Nepal, as the hotel is run by monks and the guest were mainly monks. The room was spacious, incredible clean and with hot water. Moreover, there is a garden in the... More
