The owner was very kind and gave us tips where we could find something to eat. The place is hard to find because it hasnt got a nice entrance or lobby which we were not expecting. The rooms are small, smell disgusting, are very dirty and the walls are extremely thin. At least they have airconditioning. The bathroom is also...

Happy Family is the best description of this Taipei Hostel! I have been lodging with John in HFH since 1985. Over the years John (and Mike) have been there with space and suggestions/recommendations every time I visit. Biking, Hiking, Bungee and great food all have started from HF. I've met the coolest travelers at all HF locations (present and past)…getting...

This is a backpacker style hostel which is full of humanity. Both the owner John and helper Mike are so friendly that they claimed they let the last-minute tourist to stay in the living room w/o charges in late night. John also offer a low-floor room with a double-decker bed for my mother who has difficulty in climbing staircase so...

The hostel is close to the Taipei Main Station and the bus terminal. You can get to anywhere in the city with a short ride. The service is excellent and the owner/manager is always here to help. Both John and Mike are very knowledgeable on local attractions and events.
