This is my second time staying here so I knew what to expect. Gwo Shiuan is a love hotel with little soundproofing that's showing its age. If you're willing to ignore this, it's still a good value. I'm less enthusiastic this time. I checked in on Chinese New Years Eve and was given a box of honey cake and a...

This is a good, budget hotel close to 3 MRT stations, about 8 min away. However, if you have a lot of luggage or heavy luggage, this might be a problem for you. 7-11 and coffee place close by. Rooms small but clean. Very good included Asian style breakfast with a good selection (western options are minimal, but if you...

I was in Taipei at Gwo Shiuan Hotel last week, from 6th to 10th Feb. Pros: the location is fantastic on a main street, close to the MRT. The staff was very friendly, it seems like it is a family business and they really try their best to make people feel comfortable. In particular, during the breakfast they were very...

The double bed room on the third floor had mirrors all around and adult movies on channels 14 and 15. There was an empty condom wrapper on the bedside table my first night. The second night, there was a fresh unopened condom. Cigarette smoke wafted through the air sometimes at night and in the morning. Friendly Concierges. The bed was...

In hindsight the gaudy wallpaper should have told the story, so it's not a hotel to take your kids. Mainly due to the channels they are likely to find if they go channel surfing! Rooms where cheap and there was a large spa in a large bathroom, which was only just smaller than the room. The free wifi was fast...

This hotel is somewhat better than 3 but perhaps not 4. The staff is very nice, an English speaker was on hand most shifts (we stayed 3 nights 4 days) . My father and I stayed in a "superior twin" room. The room was very small (no space to move between the twin beds, at all, and maybe 8 inches...

Although it is an old hotel, the room was clean, and certainly they have renovated the hotel already so it was quite comfortable to stay. Moreover, the location is good ( near mrt, near the banks, near food area, near super market, near 7 eleven). Hence, definitely wort your money!

Stayed there for 6 nights. Friendly and polite staff. Rooms are small. After placing our luggage, not much walking space. The bathroom is small unlike shown in photos. After bathing, the whole bathroom will be wet. Have difficulty putting on long pants without pants getting wet. We booked two rooms, but our rooms are far from one another even though...
