We stayed at this hotel for 7 nights and we are very happy with the accommodation, staff and especially the location. Mrt is just a minute walk, a convenient store just a block behind the hotel, a superb bakeshop at the ground floor, stores and...More
Just finished an excellent 3 night stay at the San Wased Hotel while on business in Taipei. According to Google Map and my Taiwanese colleagues, it is one of the few hotels located within spitting distance of the metro.
That alone should be enough to...More
Select the hotel based on a mistake (instead of San Want Residences) and stay for 3 nights in April'12.
Best is the location. It's direct @ an underground station and the underground line system in Taipei is excellent and very cheap (like it!)
Was there in March 15th-17th a week after the Taipei motor show. Was going to stay a week earlier, but the price pretty much doubled. We stayed at the Deluxe room this time. Paid about 4,500 NT$ for it. The price is very decent for...More
This hotel is comfortable and the service staff are superb. Our "deluxe suite" had a spacious sitting room and large separate bedroom with ample closet space. There was a separate large shower stall as well as a hand held shower for the bath tub. The...More

You have few options for the transportation from the airport to the hotel: 1) taxi: it's take around 40-60 minutes depending on the traffic and it costs around NTD$1,000 equivalent to US$35. 2) bus: it runs around every 30-45 minutes and costs NTD$145, equivalent to US$4.5. Bus 1960 will take you all the way in Taipei City Hall station where you change to the MRT (Taipei Metro) and get off on Zhongxiao Dunhwa station (2 stops). This route can take up to 90 minutes. Bus 5201 will take you to the exit one of the Zhonexiao Fuxing MRT station where you can walk to the hotel on foot in 15 minutes. 3) High speed railway: shuttle to the train station, take the train and change to MRT. This is the most complicated version and personally I don't think it save you anytime. No matter which bus line you choose, DO NOT change in Taipei Main Station. It's very confusing and it took me years to figure out where to go.
From the hotel to 101: You can walk and take public transportation. If the weather permits, walking is the better choice and it takes around 30-50 minutes. Forget about MRT because they are in different line and you need to go very far and to come back. However, you can take bus 33 on Dunhua South Road which will take about 30 minutes. Unfortunately, it only runs every 30 minutes. Taxi is always easy to get around and it will cost less than US$5.
