Akara exceeded all of our expectations. We felt at home right away and got along well with the staff who always wanted to know that everything was fine. The room it self, we got upgraded to a deluxe room, was amazing. We got a room on the 14th floor and had a great view from the unbelievable shower /bathtub. It is pure luxury. The location of the hotel is great and it is easy to get around, either by foot or with tuk tuk. The breakfast is served at fables and it has a variety of options, we were definitely satisfied. This is truly a boutique hotel and you feel the exclusivity. If we were to acknowledge something it's the fact that we during our two night stay never got new toilet paper to the room even though the staff was in the room leaving water. Very strange. But I would go back here when going to Bangkok again. The pool it self is an experience.

I highly recommend Akara Hotel in Bangkok. My son and I stayed at Akara hotel three different times during our several week trip to southeast asia, and it quickly began to feel like home to us. We used Akara Hotel as our “home base” as we traveled to different cities within Thailand and explored neighboring countries. During this time, we stayed in 4 different rooms within the hotel which were on 4 different floors and each had a slight difference in the layout. Each of the 4 rooms were as clean an comfortable as the next; I can recommend this hotel with great confidence. There are several reasons why I recommend this particular hotel, but most noteworthy is the staff. From top to bottom, the staff is absolutely delightful and exceptional in the roles they play throughout the resort. The front desk staff, the bellmen and concierge, housekeeping, restaurant staff, maintenance, drivers, and everyone we encountered maintained the highest level of professionalism and all were profoundly friendly and attentive to our needs.

The beds were very comfortable, the rooms were meticulously clean, the food and drinks offered within the hotel were great. There was plenty of hot water for showering and bathing, and the hairdryers that were provided in the rooms had diffuser attachments which paired nicely with the hotel’s A/C...an added benefit for guests with naturally curly hair. LOL...but seriously, though. We relied heavily on the recommendations from the concierge, and their direction and helpfulness really added to our entire vacation. Their judgement and opinions were spot-on, making our trip truly a once in a lifetime.

I highly recommend Akara Hotel; I promise that you will not be disappointed.

I would like to give a heartfelt thank you to Akara Hotel and staff...we are deeply grateful for your hospitality and thankful to all of you for making us feel so safe and comfortable during our stay. Had I not met the staff via their service at this hotel, I would have chosen them as friends.

Sincerely, Melissa & Joseph Tanke.

We stayed here for 5 nights and used it as a base for exploring the city. We loved our room which was very comfortable and a great place to relax. We stayed in a 'Prarop King Delux' room which was one of the cheaper options, it was very well equipped but maybe a little small for some people, it was perfect for us.

We did not have breakfast included with our room but the hotel do offer a free afternoon tea every day between 2pm and 5pm which was excellent. It has a great selection of delicate and tasty cakes, sandwiches and nibbles.

The pool area was great, its is very modern looking and has views across the city. There is a bar there swell but you don't get pestered to buy drinks.

Throughout our stay the concierge was great at making recommendations and quickly arranged taxis and tuk tucks for us.

The airport is located within walking distance of Ratchaprarop station which is a direct train link to the international airport. And although the hotel appears to be in a business district it is only a 15-20 minute walk to Phetchaburi Road which is very lively area with lots of shops and places to eat - it comes alive at night. There is also a 'Big C' supermarket another 5 mins walk past Phetchaburi road if you are looking for food gifts to take home.

I would highly recommend this hotel as a place to stay for exploring the city and having easy access to the airport. It is a haven of tranquility amongst the bustling city.

We stayed in the Akara for one night because of all the positive reviews on TA. Looking back at the reviews after our stay I'm amazed and how many one only reviews have been made on TA. This should have rung alarm bells to me and I'll look at the reviews more closely next time.

I'm writing this negative review to advise other holiday makers that there are far better options in Bangkok than this hotel and at a cheaper and better located premises.

Why such a negative review, firstly In my opinion its not 5 star, compare it to other 5 star hotels in Bangkok and its way down the list.

The hotel lobby is very small and gets crowded very quickly and when we left in the morning around 6am, they only had one person working.

The pool is very small and can't fit many people around it.

They have a special remote for the TV which is difficult to work out.

In the rooms facing the road you can hear the traffic noise when you're trying to sleep.

The location isn't very good you have a reasonable walk to any main food or shopping areas.

For a hotel this size and height to have an open stairwell is a major fire hazard and safety hazard if you have to escape the building.

I could go on but my two main concerns are the amount of people who have only written 1 review and its a positive review about this hotel and how in my opinion this hotel is rated as 5 star in Bangkok.

Our night cost us just under $3,300 Baht, there are a lot better options in Bangkok than this hotel.

This was our first stop in Thailand. Although the rooms are on the small side, and the bathroom layout was a little weird with the toilet on one side of the room and the sink and shower on the other, they were clean and the bed was super comfy! The staff was very attentive and the breakfast buffet was an amazing spread of a variety of food. The pool and rooftop bars were also wonderful.

Dear 93kirsting, Warm greetings from Akara Bangkok. Thank you for your comments of Akara being a great place to stay in Bangkok. For the room type you stayed the layout of the toilet and the shower is on the other side . This is the same layout for the same type of rooms in the hotel. For the very attentive staff, we will share this comment to motivate them to maintain good service. Best regards,

We arrived on the 13 December to a warm happy welcome from the concierge , check in was swift but the first room we had had a slight smokey smell which was picked up by the concierge who asked if we wanted to change rooms , Initially we were OK with the room and opened the door to let some fresh air in but couldn't close it as the handle broke so we ended up moving . our new room had quite a bit of noise from the road which could keep some people awake but we were OK with this.We had "free" drinks and snacks between 3 & 5 (including alcohol) which was nice , all staff were very friendly and helpful and all areas including rooms were kept spotlessly clean , the pool is a lot smaller than it looks on the photo's but again was very clean . The roof top bar had a nice vibe to it but we tended to go out using the GRAB app which is very good . Breakfast was good with something to suit everyone with your usual juice's , fruits, cereals Asian section and egg station . Overall we had a great stay but based on other hotels we've stayed at this place is not quite 5 star but we would certainly stay here again .

In the middle of all the hustle and noise of Bangkok, Akara hotel is a calm oasis. This boutique style hotel is stylish and welcoming, and offers great service.

We stayed in a junior suite, that had a sofa and a small sitting area with table and chairs. The room was clean and spacious. Bathroom ammenities are of good quality. Towels and bathrobes were just as soft as you would hope them to be. The room had a luxurious feel to it and it was easy to relax there.

The pool is quite small but nice, and there are great views from the rooftop bar.

Breakfast had an ok selection of dishes, but it wasn’t as good as I expected. In a 5 star hotel I would expect coffee and tea to be served to the table, and to be able to order something as simple as soft boiled eggs, which they didn’t have. We had dinner at the restaurant in the 16th floor, and it was tasty but nothing spectacular. The complimentary afternoon tea served at the second floor library is just lovely. I would love to see some of that finesse and variety in the breakfast, too!

Service was really professional and friendly. The staff speaks good English and are very friendly and ready to assist. The hotel offers a very good benefit for tourists wishing to save on their mobile expenses. There is a phone in the room that works as a Wi-Fi hotspot and that you can take with you out on the town. You can even make free phone calls on it.

The reason Akara hotel wasn’t a five star hotel for us, is small things. The in-room light system and the TV system are actually quite complicated and difficult to use. Also, the room was stuffy and it seemed that there was mouldy smell coming from the AC. With minor improvements Akara could go from great to spectacular, and we would be happy to return to witness it. All in all, staying in this hotel made our stay in Bangkok very enjoyable.

Service was good, with free afternoon tea and breakfast, very good. It is also convenient to take a taxi. The waiters are very enthusiastic and will help you carry your luggage. There is a swimming pool and restaurant on the roof, and the view is good. Very clean. The rooms are medium in size with large bathtubs and enough vanities.

Upon checkin we were offered a fragrant cool cloth to wipe our hands and face. It just got better from there. Nice well equipped rooms. Very clean and comfortable. Rooftop Pool and Bar area were excellent. Location was perfect for sightseeing. We had two rooms directly across the hall from each other. Would definitely stay here again.

The hotel is conveniently located. The room is also large and comfortable. Hotel staff are very careful and warm, and cleaning staff also keep the room clean everyday. On the second floor of the hotel, they will provide dessert and drinks everyday. We have good memory in the Akara hotel.

Yes plenty of food places and open air market at Indra Square about 3 minutes walk, open until about midnight. The Akara also has a nice roof top bar open until about 11pm. Just say hi to Tor from Pete and William.
