I've been trying to summaries my thoughts on our stay and the predominate phrase that circles my head is: "it is good!". To expand, we took a double single room with air-com & shared bathroom, it's not luxuries but for the price we paid it was rather good! The staff are helpful & nice. Breakfast was included. It was close...

We are recently back from a trip around the world where we stayed in 69 different places. I have found memories of our four nights in Sam Sen Sam (two different times). We stayed in the Strawberry, Blueberry and Banana Rooms upstairs. Blueberry was my favorite. Clean, comfortable, cozy rooms. Appreciated the little fridge too! The courtyard downstairs was nice,...

We had been staying at Baan Manusarn which is a lovely traditional family guesthouse but needed an extra night and they were full. Guided by high reviews on Trip advisor we booked a "super deluxe" room for $56. The room was no bigger than the large bed in a vile lime color. This is definitely not a "boutique" hotel. The...

Sam sen Sam place leaves you feeling safe and with a really nice thai vibe. Its located about 10 minutes walk to khao san road, and is surrounded with everything you need. We had to leave slightly early due to the riots kicking off on january 13th, may have been fine but we were just being extra cautious, the nice...

Booked a room with a queen and two singles for our children but when we arrived we had one queen bed and the adult children had a mattress each on the floor! In the end we had to book another room for the kids with proper beds which cost us more! but hey that is life sometimes! Got the nice...

We were happy to be away from new Bangkok in a quiet street off Samsen road in bangalamphu. We found the accommodation to be great value for money and it felt small and personal. It it close to the ferry stop and lots of great restaurants. Ideal for those who want a less frenetic Bangkok experience. We skipped the breakfasts...

Absolutely love this hostel. We came back again a few weeks later when we were back in Bangkok as loved it so much. It's on a lovely quiet street about 10 minutes walk from rambuttri village and Khosan road. We stayed in a double room which had a huge and comfortable bed, and a tv that worked. The staff were...

We booked Sam Sen Sam by the trip advisor for the specific date and specified an arrival time of 2:00am when we arrived it was fully booked and receptionist offered us to check in at 12:00 and after brief negotiation at 6:00 am we were disappointed and spent one hour to find another place to sleep. The second mistake I...

The place is located in Sam Sen 3 Alley, 10 minute-walk to Khaosan Road. It shares the same street with other highly rated and best valued guesthouses in TripAdvisor so I suggest you look around to see what really fits your taste. It has very homey feel, looks like a traditional Thai house turned into guest house. Inside the room...

The place is very well located - it's about 10 mintes to the Khao Sand Road by walk. What is important it's very quiet. The room was clean. The bathroom and WC were shared, although it was also clean there. The breakfast was very good (always fresh fruits). The staff was helpful with organizing trips and transportation.

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
