I'm visiting Sawasdee house for years now, because the location is perfect to meet with friends and they have nice and affordable rooms. But I have to say the service and food are getting worse every year... I guess with a location like that, they don't really have to do their best anymore and the staff can afford to be...

This hotel is the worst hotel I've ever stayed. The girl at reception with glasses on was the worst receptionist I've ever met, she would never look at you even you talk to her nicely. Th location is good for night out, many bars restaurants around, close to Khao San road, we got the quiet room so it wasnt bad...

We decided to have a dinner in the restaurant because the outside location looks nice and I like it to watch the people walking along the streets. The locastion itself is ok, the table was clean, the chairs comfortable. They serve plenty of differnt dishes, western and Thai Food, Pizza etc. What was really disappointing is the service. One of...

The room was very cheap for two people sharing a double rooms be Not too much noise from the street. Is a great location if you are looking to stay near Khao San road. The restaurant is pretty expensive but due to location you can find cheaper places to eat. Staff were nice and helpful when leaving luggage before our...

I visited Thailand five years ago and remembered my stay here so booked again this year for the 3 nights we were in Bangkok. Great location, in the centre but far enough away from the loud blaring music. Great customer service, all staff friendly, rooms clean. Food is amazing and would definitely recommend you eat there. Great quirky hostel in...

Located right next to Khao San Road, Sawasdee House is perfect for walking around one of the noisiest parts of the city. Perfect access to local restaurants and food, this hotel is enough for a simple traveller. Walkable distance from where the bus dropped us off at too. The room was SIMPLE. Two beds with heads facing each other, a...

We enjoyed our 1 night stay at this hotel. Room was clean, had Wifi, AC and a safe, and an outdoor bathroom with a view of rambuttri street which was nice. Hotel offers a variety of different size and types of rooms for travellers, most under 1,000 bht. Nice restaurant atmosphere down stairs and we were able to have a...

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
