The rooms were beautiful and so cleverly designed by the managing architect(s?). The area is wonderfully quiet and still in the middle of everything (royal palace, river, democracy monument, etc) The nearby restaurants are great, too! I lived in Bangkok for six months prior and had never known such a charming place existed in the city. Just be sure to...

I have stayed at The Bhuthorn with my gf for 4 days, which was proven to be the highlight of our whole travel in Thailand. The hotel is located in a very quiet and nice neighborhood where you can experience the real old bangkok. It is also close to grand palace, reclining buddha, the pier, flower market, Wat Arun, etc....

Amidst the heat of Bangkok, and the tension of the red shirt protests, the Bhuthorn was a quiet oasis. We stayed for 4 nights in the Nara room (the one with the bed upstairs in a little loft area). Our room was quiet, and the A/C quickly cooled everything down. Breakfast and afternoon tea were served in a beautiful little...

Extra touches galore...beyond the standard orchid on your pillow. Huge, lovely furnished rooms in a quiet, intimate environment. Fantastic library with up-to-date, guides covering everything from Thai floral arrangements to food. Extremely helpful, including how to navigate in avoidance of the red-shirt protesting. If you are looking for a charming inn, in a good location, I can highly recommend the...

I could not have asked for a more comfortable for my 1st visit to Bangkok. Since I was traveling alone, in transit to meet up with my daughter, I was looking for a place that would provide me with safely and comfort. I found much more that that with the location and the care I received from the owners and...

My husband and I stayed here with our 1-yr old son for four nights in February. It was a real pleasure. Every day there was something new to appreciate and enjoy. The service was exceptional. Lovely fresh flowers everywhere, delicious sweets, and endless small touches to make us feel taken care of and completely at home. Even our son Gabriele...

The Bhuthorn is a labor of love. From the vintage furniture and objet d'art to the fresh flowers (roses and jasmines everywhere), scrumptious Thai or continental breakfast (one of the best I’ve tried) and quality toiletries (which another legendary Bangkok hotel also uses), one can see that the owners – architects turn hoteliers, Khun Direk and Khun Chitlada, have put...

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
