The hotel is perfect if you wish to explore Grand Palace, Wat Po, Wat Arun, Chinatown and Wat Traimit avoiding to spend much time from the typical touristic areas of Sukhumvit and Silom. Also good to explore the Chao Praya river with the express boat getting to Rambuttri and Khao San Road. Isolated from Bangkok nightlife but this was fine...

Stayed 4 nights. - not very conveniently located -bed sort of hard, but big -construction outside of window -police officer blowing a whistle during rush hours was extremely annoying -no wi-fi in rooms, have to go down to lobby for wi-fi -no safe in room Despite the above inconveniences, we enjoyed our stay here for the most part as it...

Yes, it's near Chinatown and fairly close to Khao San and temples, but when you get a bad sleep on the rock beds, and need to sit in the lobby to use your computer (or else you can buy the one device at a time wifi for 200 baht) it's not easy to walk anywhere. I wasn't impressed by this...

our 1st time stay in this hotel. We reached the hotel past noon approaching 1pm. The hotel staff allowed us for the "early" checkin. Overall, we are happy with the room we had. Reasonable size with 2 queen size beds. The only hitch we felt was there arent enough plug points in the room. We had to resort to make...

I booked the hotel for the group of people. We had 8 rooms, majority for 2, and 2 rooms for 3 persons. Rooms are pretty ok, clean, good airconditioned. They are not new as the whole building but for all of us were good. We spent there time only during the night. Breakfast is paid separately. We decided to take...

Stayed with my husband & 2 kids. Beds are hard but surprisingly comfortable. Hotel is clean & modern. Close to china town, with a 24hr restaurant on the ground floor which was very convenient for us when we arrived at the hotel late & after long days shopping. The staff are fantastic. The only downside is that during the middle...

I booked 2 nights of the Deluxe Room. I gave it an average because it was new and had a clean bathtub and carpeted corridors. It was about 6pm when we checked in after we reached Bangkok on our flight at Survarnabhumi Airport. During the check in process, we were served chilled drinks (probably Yuzu drink). The lobby was quite...

Stayed here in March 2013 and have to say it was lovely. Very clean and close to everything. Only downfall would be the lack of english spoken by the receptionist, as it was the first time in Bangkok we wanted some info but we could not get much. Other than that it was nice and I would stay again.

Staying in Chinatown / Yaowarat

Neighbourhood Profile
Chinatown / Yaowarat
Better known as 'Yaowarat' among locals, Chinatown is Bangkok's bustling district that never sleeps. During the day, the main street and its small alleyways are filled with a vibrant mix of colours, scents and flavours coming from the roadside restaurants and all-day markets. The real action, however, happens after sunset. Surrounded by neon lights, Thais and tourists alike flock here around dinnertime to feast on some of the best street food in town. Escape the chaos by venturing a little further from the main road and discover hidden shrines, friendly locals and daily life in its purest form.
