Budacco is a lovely boutique hotel. We are situated in Pratunam, which is a very vibrant fashion market right in the Bangkok city center. There are many shopping malls and attractions all within walking distance from us. The Ratchaprarop Airport Rail-Link Station is also within 20 minutes walking from our hotel. The Airport Rail-Link is the fastest and arguably the most convenient transport link between the Suvarnabhumi International Airport and the Bangkok inner city.

Detailed Reviews
Not bad for a boutique 3 star hotel. However don't think will book back this hotel for the following reasons
Pro:
1) hotel right inside pratunam night market area so be it day or night
. Endless shopping confirmed.
2) staffs were very helpful and pleasant
3) king size bed in room. One of few that offers king size bed for a 3 star hotel
Con:
1) room design although colourful and bright but somehow lots of spaces not utilised hence looks empty
2) room shower and toilet had to climb up steps and after a shower it's v wet and slippery. Not kids or elderly friendly at all
3) sound proof of room is poor ( as in most 3 star hotel)
4) 1st timer might find it difficult to locate the hotel as its hidden right at the end of an alley
5) there's a phone in the room but no instructions on wat number to call for reception or inter room calling
6) no breakfast offered
Hotel had a lot of positive reviews.. can't fault it much actually but I only give it 4 star as I had stayed in better 3 star Hotel in the area.

A pleasant and very clean new age hotel. Affordably priced. If you like Pratunam market. This is it. You are right in the midst of all the buzz day and night. However, if you prefer less cluttered vicinity. This won't be the choice.
Good for a budget trip.

Funky decor and large bright rooms. Great location as well. Surprisingly quiet when you consider the density of the buildings and it's in the middle of a very busy market. Mattresses are hard but that is the norm in Asia. Massage place next door and 24 hour little supermarket is handy!

+1
Booked a 4 nights stay in the hotel via agoda. Stayed in a deluxe yellow room. Paid about SGD 265 in total.
Response from hotel:
As I have several questions for the hotel, I leave a message to the hotel via their facebook account. The response will take about 1-3 days.
During the conversation, I was told that we will be given level 8 which we do not want to have as there is no lift access to that floor. I asked for an exchange but was told that all non-smoking rooms are taken up. Thus, we have no choice but to agree to that.
However, to my amazement and surprise, upon our arrival, we were given a level 5 room!! I was really surprised pleasantly! All thanks to the staff for accommodating us! :) Maybe it was due to people cancelling their rooms? But at least we got what we wants. But if they know it in advance, the service is worth a 5 stars if they tell us beforehand instead having the unhappiness to have to stay in a level which we doesn't want to. A improvement to be seen for this part.
Location:
Took the airport link line to Rathchaprarop station which is very near to the hotel. It is about 5 mins walk away. We also walked to the station when we are going back to the airport for departure from BKK. However, do not try it during rainy days even if it is just drizzle! It was quite a bumpy walk. Although it is a short walk, we have much difficulty walking to the station as it was after the rain and the road is full of water puddles especially with our heavy luggage.
Upon arrival at Rathchaprarop station on our first day, we walked to the hotel, with the Baiyoke Sky hotel as the landmark. When we walked near Baiyoke, we could see a big "Budacco" signboard on a building. However, despite that, we have much trouble locating it. We asked the stall owners nearby and finally got the direction. It will be good to print the Thai version of the address which can be found on Budacco's website. Very helpful as we showed that to ask for direction!
To locate the hotel, look for the "Blue spa massage" banner instead. It is quite noticeable as compared to the small "Budacco" signboard by the street. It is located in an alley (which cars cannot pass through) and right beside "Blue spa massage".
Budacco hotel is also located right smack in Pratunam Market! Early in the morning (about 7am local time), the stalls will start to open and it will close by about 10am (local time). A series of another set of stalls will start to open in the afternoon until very late (at least I still see tham at about midnight local time!)
Budacco is located about 15mins walk to the nearest BTS which is BTS Chidlom. It is about 5-10 mins walk away to Platinum Fashion Mall. Although there is short cut to the mall, it is full of the stalls and people during the day and it is totally dark at night. Thus, it might take much more time walking there among the shopping crowds during the day and the darkness at night!
For location wise, if you are a shoppaholic, it is at an awesome location! However, for me, I might rather stay in the previous hotel I stayed at as it is more quiet and also easier to walk to the nearest BTS.
In addition, Budacco is located in an alley not able for cars to go to. Thus, it is hard to ask the staff to help to call taxi too. We also have trouble having taxis driving us to the nearest BTS. Most of them either ask for fixed price or does not want to take us. Not sure if it is due to the traffic or the distance.
Rooms:
The room is very spacious and well lighted! See the attached pictures for the room.
For light sleeper, best to ask for higher floors as there will be noise when the stalls at Pratunam market are setting up in the morning and at night.
For the toilet, there is a seen through glass (though not transparent), you can see vaguely what the person is doing behind. This will be rather inconvenient if you are staying with opposite sex or a rather not close friend.
Breakfast:
Breakfast spread is not bad. Some of the dishes are changed every day.
Some of the dishes are noodles, sausages, strawberry yogurt, ham, fried rice etc. There is also a bread toaster to toast the bread available! :)
Try to wake up earlier for breakfast as there might be more people about 8-9plus local time and you might need to wait for seats.
Facilities/Amenities:
Welcome drink and warm towel offered upon arrival.
Hair dryer is available in the room. There is also facial foam available.
There is a mini bar in the room which consists of several drinks and also tidbits. Of course chargeable but is good if you are feeling thirsty or hungry at night.
2 bottles of plain water is also complimentary daily.
A toilet is also available on level 1 if you returned back to the hotel on the last day after you have checked out. They also let you put your luggage in the hotel if your flight is late and you are going to shop before that. They put tags on your luggage so don't worry about it being missing. I think this is a good move! :)
Misc:
Although there are many many reviews exclaiming on the good service of the staff, I think it is average. It will be good if they provide us with a map on our day of arrival and to also provide good recommendations around the area. Area to improve on. But they are usually with smiles :)
Don't try the Blue spa massage beside the hotel too. Although it is really convenient, the skills are not that good. I have aches after the massage on both nights that I tried that.Even bruises too! Although I said "pain" several times, the staff did not use lesser strength :( Wanted to give another chance to them, thus, I tried 2 times. But both are bad experiences. I went to another massage nearby (less than 2 mins walk) which is "Chan Thai" massage, omg it is so awesome and it is so much cheaper too! The staffs are very friendly and they can remember you if you go there consecutively! I also feel much more relaxed after the massage. See attached picture to find it. It is just beside Baiyoke! 1hr foot massage (with head, neck, shoulder, back included) only costs THB 200 instead of the THB250 at Blue spa. Not due to the price, but the skills at Chan Thai is really much more excellent! Only about 2 mins walk away from Budacco! Open quite early as I saw that it is already open at about 8plus local time in the morning.
Various 7-11 are just nearby too! :)
They need a THB 1000 deposit too. Don't worry, they will refund it upon check-out.
There is a 24/7 security guard too!
They have free wifi on all floors. However, the wifi connection is not very good. I couldn't connect to the wifi consistently. It is not only at night but also in the daytime.
If you travel alone, this is a great place to stay. Feel very safe and shopping is so accessible and massage palours not far away.

After reading all the reviews here, I had quite a high expectations from Budacco. Even more so when my colleague who stayed here early this year, said it was good. But when we get into the room, we were left disappointed.
Furniture there were a little run down already. The bed, the chair and the tables etc. We stayed at the 5th floor, and we can practically hear what is going on downstairs. Awaken by the vendors setting up their stalls, and keep awake by the them when they are tearing it down. Blanket wasn't as good as the previous hotel that I've always stayed at when I came to Bangkok. Shower heads weren't adjustable, and the toilet and bathroom were a little run down.
Taxis and tuktuks cannot access to the hotel entrance, and could only stop at the road. From there, we got to carry and push our luggages to the hotel along the alley. A lot of indian restaurants located at both sides of the alley too.
Location wise, it was good. But I think I will still prefer the hotel that I've stayed previously, which is a walking distance from Budacco as well.
Oh ya, the service from the staffs are not that good as compared to the previous hotel I stayed. Really. Wifi is also very weak and slow when accessing in the room. Didn't try to access it at the hotel lobby though.

This is the 7th Hotel I have stayed at in Bangkok.
Stayed because of good reviews. But boy was I disappointed.
Nightmare for Taxi to find, Noisiest place I have ever known. On the 4th floor but still no sleep.
Asked for non-smoking room but the room stank of cigarettes.
Would not recommend and won't return.

BUDACCO HOTEL LOCATION & HOW TO GET THERE
Hotel is ideally situated for those visitng Bangkok for shopping (clothing particularly). It is about a 10 min. walk from Ratchaprarop Rail Link Station (the nearest rail station). The hotel is located at the end of a narrow alley (soi) and it is definitely recommended to carry a map of it's location if you are a first-time visitor. Soi is well lit and safe to walk at night. Also, have the phone number of the hotel (66 2 656 4440) on hand should you, a taxi or tuk tuk driver need to call for directions. If you are going to the hotel from Ratchaprarop or some other location in Bangkok, my recommendation would be to choose a tuk tuk over a taxi as they move much more quickly through the congested, narrow streets. Baiyoke Sky Hotel is a skyscraper, the highest building in the area and easily seen from all directions. It is only about 12 - 15 min. walk from Budacco so get dropped off here if your driver is having difficulty and then catch a tuk tuk. The tuk tuk driver will likely know the location of the Budacco and, if not, give him the phone # to call.
If you are using the BTS Skytrain line to go to the hotel the nearest station is Phaya Thai (if you don't wish to change lines and go onto the Airport Rail Link to the Ratchaprarop Station (1 short stop away). Phaya Thai is the 2nd closest rapid transit station to the hotel. My guess is it is a 20 - 30 min. walk from there to the hotel.
CHECK-IN
- Reception staff are most friendly and make good effort at English.
- You are welcomed immediately with a cool towel and cold juice - nice gesture
HOTEL FACILITY
- Opened in 2010, 7 floors, 48 rooms, 1 somewhat slow elevator serves floors up to 6. If in one of the 6 rooms on 7th floor it is necessary to walk up a steep flight of stairs.
- Housekeeping standards throughout hotel are high.
- Breakfast is included in all room rates.
- Daily newspapers are available (Thai & English) in lobby for reading on the main floor.
- Free WIFI is available in lobby and in all rooms. WIFI fairly fast but I experienced connection problems in the wee hours of the morning.. Don't recall if there is a computer available in the lobby for guests.
- Small, nicely appointed, air con. dining room on main floor where complimentary breakfast and also lunch and dinner are served. Cold drinks, incl. beer, are available for purchase 24/7.
- 24 hr. security guard on duty, ever present either just outside front door or in lobby area. Rarely did I not see a guard when I entered or left hotel. All security staff very friendly.
ROOMS
- bright, adequately furnished, western-style bathrooms
- mattresses are comfortable
- our room on 7th floor was always quiet for sleeping but lower front rooms could experience occasional loud talking and laughing from tables set up in the soi across from the hotel from socializing night owls.
- 'Do not disturb' / 'Please make up room' signs hanging on each door handle.
- Remotely-controlled air conditioners work well.
FOOD
- Complimentary breakfast offers many choices (Thai & Western) and is served buffet-style. Food is good and attention is paid by staff to cleanliness and tidiness. Dining room seats 24 at various sized tables and a further 8 seats are available outside the floor-to-ceiling glass windows for smokers.
- Both Thai & Western dishes are available for all 3 meals.
- We had dinner in the restaurant which we found to be tasty, nicely presented and fair value.
***Note - For those shopping or hanging out in close proximity to the hotel, the dining room at the Budacco provides a pleasant, AIR CONDITIONED, place to eat. I mention this as there are very few (if any) good, air con. restaurants offering Western food within short walking distance.
CONCLUSION
Budacco Hotel offers rooms and service that will satisfy the needs of most any traveller and we left with the impression the owner, manager and all staff are totally focused on making your stay an enjoyable one. The young manager, RUN (nickname), whom I had the pleasure of meeting, is fluent in English and seems highly motivated towards constant improvement in the operation and is very open to any constructive suggestions that any guest may have. We would definitely return to the hotel on our next trip to Bangkok.
ODDS AND SODS
- The Suvarnabhumi Airport Rail Link (above ground) starts operation each day from the airport and from the western terminus, Phaya Thai Station, at 6:00 AM. Last departure from each end is midnight. Fare to/from Ratchaprarop is 40 baht (CAD$1.25). Trip duration is 25 minutes. Airport Rail Link service is every 15 minutes. There is also an Express Train from Suvarnabhumi Airport that runs west only to Makkasan Station (1 station short of Ratchaprarop). The Express train runs every 30 minutes with the same starting time each morning as the Rail Link and costs a little more. Travel time to Makkasan Station from the airport is 15 minutes. At Suvarnabhumi Airport the trains arrive/depart from the BASEMENT LEVEL. This is by far the easiest and most efficient method of travelling into the city from the airport. Ticket vending machines are easy to understand. All you do is touch the stop on an electronic board where you are wishing to disembark and the fare will automatically show on a screen. You can then deposit 10 baht coins or paper money and change will be given.
- Markets for clothing shopping abound nearby the Budacco - hundreds of stalls. For the ladies, my recommendation as first choice for fashion items would be PRATUNAM MARKET where a lot of quality, fashion clothing can be found for prices that are a small fraction of what one would pay in Canada - e.g. elegant, quality, assorted styles and colours in blouses for 300 - 500 baht (CAD$9. - $15.) - stylish, beautifully stitched ladies handbags for 1,200 - 2,000 baht (CAD$36 - $60.) - amazing!! All prices in the markets are open for negotiation and, the greater amount you spend in one stall, the greater bargaining power you have. Always remember to negotiate with a smile.
Other places worth a visit for shopping in the area are PLATINUM FASHION MALL AND BIG C. All these places are within 15 - 25 minutes walk of the Budacco.
The department stores around Siam BTS Station are high end where a vast array of luxury products are available with prices that would match Paris, London or New York. To get to this area from Budacco my suggestion would be to take a tuk tuk (60 - 80 baht - 12-15 min.) unless you are a 'walker', in which case it would take about 40 min.
- Upon leaving the hotel for a shopping sorti, I would recommend the following preparations; 1) Take a bottle of water, wear a hat, put on sunscreen, take a rain cape or jacket and, if you must carry a handbag, make sure it has a shoulder strap so you can wear it across your body. For gentlemen, no wallets in the back pockets. A PAKSAFE (20 litre size) backpack is the ideal daypack to use (the most secure daypack in the world from my extensive research). My security suggestions mentioned here are not intended to frighten you but are only a measure of common sense. In my 5 trips to Thailand (28 weeks travelling throughout the country) I have never encountered any robberies or even attempts but it does happen and what better place for these bad guys to operate in than the crowded markets.
- For anyone heading to Chiang Mai or Khon Kaen as part of your Thailand vacation, consider taking the bus and using Nakhonchai Air Bus. The terminal in Bangkok is located a 10 min.. taxi ride from Mo Chit BTS Station. Nakhonchai offers the ultimate in bus travel and at a reasonable price. They offer only 1st class, air con. service but in 2 categories, 'Gold Class' and 'First Class'. Gold Class buses have 32 seats and First Class buses have 21 seats vs. the typical North American highway buses that have 44. I won't enlarge on the services this company provides but, suffice it to say, you travel in the lap of luxury. You can phone Nakhonchai in Thailand at 0-29-360-009 to reserve seats and arrange to pick up your tickets within 24 hrs. and pay for them at any 7/11 store by giving them your reservation #. There is a very small fee for this service, payable when you pick up the tickets.

I stayed at Budacco with my partner for 4 nights during my trip to Bangkok. Made the reservation online through Expedia a month in advance, which was a smooth transaction, and my requests were effectively communicated to the hotel. Below are my positive and negative opinions of our stay in Budacco:
Positives:
1. The hotel staffs were extremely helpful. They really went to the extreme to satisfy the needs of their guests. For instance, we had a tough time locating the hotel upon arrival so I gave a ring to the front desk and told the staff our current location. They immediately sent one of their guys to pick us up from where we were. That's Thai hospitality at its best right there, folks!
2. The hotel is within walking distance from Ratchaprarop train station (5-10 mins max) and the famous Platinum Fashion Mall (10-15 mins max).
3. Our room was with a purple theme, exactly what I requested. However, they could not fulfill my next request, which was a room on a higher floor as they were fully booked. Nevertheless, we had good nights' sleep during our entire stay as no sound could be heard from the busy night market below.
4. Room amenities were adequate, nothing fancy as one would expect. Toiletries and towels were changed on a daily basis, as well as housekeeping. The bed and pillows were comfortable - just the thing one would need after an entire day of walking and shopping.
5. Breakfast was delicious! The kitchen tried their best to change the daily menu but it was more or less the same. No complains though!
6. Special mention goes to the hotel's housekeeping staffs for their courtesy and friendliness. We never fail to get our daily doses of "sawadee ka" each time we meet the housekeeping staffs.
Negatives:
1. Soundproofing. Every morning we could hear doors banging, kids running around and guests chit chatting along the corridor, which was quite disturbing.
2. The size of the bathroom was a bit small, especially the shower area.
3. The hotel was kinda difficult to locate. We ended up spending almost half an hour walking in circles looking for the hotel before calling front desk for help. For those coming by Uber or taxi, alight in front of Baiyoke Sky and give the hotel a ring. They will send a staff over to look for you and bring you to Budacco.
In general, our stay was indeed a pleasant one, despite the shortcomings above. I would definitely recommend Budacco to friends and family members travelling to Bangkok!

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights over the New Year, and it was exactly as we expected. The rooms were comfortable and the location was great. Service was also up at standard.
Booking:
We sent them a few enquiries through email and they responded quickly. There were some slight language issues, but nothing major. They allow late check-outs (if the room is available) at a rate of 100THB/hr.
Location:
We took the Airport Rail line to Ratchaprarop (you can bring luggage onboard, the Budacco AL guide is outdated). After going out the gates, take the lift down and look for Baiyoke Sky. We inadvertently found a shortcut. Just next to the railway tracks (Baiyoke Sky side), there is this small road with a few stalls. If you walk in, you will see a back entrance to Baiyoke Sky. Enter it, cut through the carpark and you will end up at the Baiyoke Sky lobby. If you look up to the right, you can see the Budacco signboard. Don't turn right straightaway though (there's no way through). Instead, walk forward through all the road stalls and turn right at the first junction. Then start looking out for the Blue Spa/Budacco signboard on your right and you'll be there in no time.
Budacco is very near Pratunam (5 min), so you can shop to your heart's content, deposit the bags, and do more shopping! You can also walk to Platinum (10 min), Central World (15 min), Siam Paragon (20 min) and MBK (25 min). The nearest BTS is Phaya Thai BTS, but we preferred walking to Siam BTS as it's more central and we could shop along the way. We rarely used the BTS and walked most of the time. There is a Big C hypermarket opposite Central World for all your shopping needs (and instant noodles!).
Service:
The counter staff were friendly and courteous, and could usually understand English. No complaints here. They can help with bookings for massage if you pass them the name and contact number.
Room:
We got the Executive Suite, and it was really huge and spacious. It was on the 8th floor though, the lift only goes to the 7th floor. Just a note, they only provide minimal amenities (shower foam, shampoo, slippers, safe). The 7-11 nearby stocks small soap bars. The only issue we had was the hot water pressure, as you need a really small flow in order to get it hot.
Food:
Breakfast was decent and I quite enjoyed it. They change a few dishes everyday, but don't expect too much. There's an alley with street food nearby which leads to Citin Pratunam. Also check out the mango sticky rice and wanton noodles at Thong Lo BTS at night! Central World also has a lot of restaurants and fast food joints if you want something safer. There is this very popular shop called Mango Tango near Siam BTS (walk towards Chang/Lek Massage direction and turn right at the road). At night, there are some popular zi char style stalls in between the river and Central World (try the salt grilled fish).
Shopping:
Pratunam and Platinum were the best of all, while Siam Paragon and Central World are more high-end. MBK was the biggest letdown, and it was full of Caucasian tourists (read: expensive prices). Siam Paragon is worth going to if you want to get Naraya bags, plus Lek and Chang Massage is nearby there.
Conclusion:
All in all, this is really a place worth staying at, with great prices to boot. I'll definitely stay here again when I come back. Just a small note, you don't get the two bottles of water on your last day.

+1
I was there from 15.09.13 to 18.09.13. Small hotel hidden in an alley among Pratuman Market. Great location, just walked out of alley, and turn to the left is the direction Baiyoke Sky and airport rail, turn to the right will be direction to Platinum Mall.
Breakfast area is small so better be early like before 9am, if not seat will not be available even if you need only 2 seats.
Last but not least, beware of peeping tom. Please refer to the photos I have posted. I discovered it only the third day in the room. I did not bring up to the management as I was in a strange land and I would not know who was the bad guy. The gap was big enough for a few pairs of eyes. I switched on only toilet light when changing but the toilet had a glass partition which is another see-through. Just be vigiliant.
