I enjoyed my stay as a solo traveler. Very clean and quiet! Helpful staff, never felt pressured by them at any time. The hostel is right in the heart of every popular attraction (Grand palace, Wat pho, Ayuttaya, Khao San road, Tourist boat connections, etc). I wish the rooms had a TV but I guess it's better to get out...

I booked this place through Hostelworld after seeing the reviews. The facilities are average for the price, the location is close to many attractions and the my stay was good until I booked a tour and then a shuttle bus to the airport. The agent who works there was hardly there, she was rude and did not give many details...

I stayed here for two nights and the room was comfortable and clean. Nice quiet location, close to Khao San Road but far enough away to not be noisy. The shower had some pressure! (After travelling as long as i had been it was a god-send) Staff helpful as they can be after the language barrier (i only speak english)...

My wife and I have just stayed at Penpark for 3 nights, taking a double delux room on the upper floor. Great room, extremely clean, great AC. Also make use of the seating area further upstairs, no one seems to no it's there, so a quiet area with a fabulous view. The hotel is close to a river pier connection...

Pleasant and helpful employees. Ask for a room at upper floor to avoid possible noise next to breakfast terrace at ground floor. This is a guest house, or like many hotels, do not forget your wax ear plugs. The place is next to many local shops and local cheap restaurants.

Wonderful low price, clean room, kind staff, perfectly located near Khao-San (if you're into that sort of thing) as well as plenty of wats and streets looking to be explored randomly. Definitely recommended!

Came back because we liked it the first time. Nice, spacious room. I'd go for the Deluxe room as the Superior rooms have the charm of a prison cell. Strange door (glass with sticker on it), concrete walls, no colours, bathroom wall doesn't reach the ceiling of the room. Deluxe and Superior rooms where very clean and cleaned daily. Mattresses...

I should have written a review before I guess but it is already very popular and I would like to be able to come back when I'm in town so... Great place, 10 minutes ( 30 if you are looking at all the merchant stalls ) from Kao San Road in a quiet neighborhood. The price is very good and...

This is where we spent our first nights in Thailand and couldnt have asked for anything better. The hotel was in a great location, close to Khao san, but close enough to get a taxi to other parts of bangkok for pretty cheap. The staff were great they sorted anything we needed. The rooms were good we had the basic...

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.

“There were different blocks and levels in the hotel, and after having a walk around there were definitely different standards but all parts of the hotel were clean and all the rooms looked fine. Choose a room that suits you best if you can find a deal online, call them or just turn up and negotiate a price if you are prepared for a walk around if there is nothing available.”
