With a mix of shopping malls, hip bars and food stalls lining both sides of Thailand’s longest road, you’ll rarely encounter a dull moment along Sukhumvit. While the main road itself doesn't offer a lot in terms of entertainment, it's the adjoining 'sois' (alleys) where the magic happens. Popular spots are soi 11 for a lively night out, soi 4 for naughty nightlife and soi 21 for world-class shopping at Terminal 21. It's

However if you have a manageable amount of luggage the better option is to take the relatively new rail link from the airport. It stops on Asoke and then you can catch a taxi from there which is a very short and cheap ride.
There is a rail link from the airport that stops at a station not far from Sukhumvit. You can transfer to a skyrail (BTS) one stop and be about a 5 minute walk from the S31. I prefer to just get a taxi from the rail link... More
