Have stayed here a number of times over the years and have always had a good experience. Buffet style breakfast is pretty good, food seems good in general, although have only eaten there once as there is great food all around that area. Phra atthit has some nice restaurants and an abundance of street food, just a stones throw from... More

This hotel is in a good location, in a walking distance to Khao San road where you find all shops, bars, pubs and restaurants. Great night life. Staff are friendly. From the hotel you can easily reach the piers if you are willing to use the ferry or go on a cruise in the river. Breakfast is good not great... More

Excellent staff and friendly service and the breakfast was very good. The location was very convenient too. Its very close to Khao san road for those interested in crazy events. For sightseeing, there is a boat station right across the river from the hotel. You can walk for less than 5 minutes over the bridge and take a boat for... More

It was our third visit here and we decided to pay a bit more for the balcony room as we had more than one night in Bangkok and ended up in a refurbished room on the sixth floor with a spacious balcony. I used a hotel booking site rather than the hotel's web site as I found it easier and... More

Stayed here for 3 nights.Amazing location - just far enough from the Kao San Road to be out of the hustle and bustle, and close enough to go visit at a whim. Top floor rooms with a river view are awesome, the staff friendly, the breakfast passable (but you eat with a great view of the river), clean ...all round... More

The hotel is a bit overpriced for what you get, but we would stay again. 1500 baht got us a small room that was clean and comfortable with a street view and buffet breakfast from 6:30 to 10:30 that was quite good. The staff was rather inflexible when we asked to sit outside by the pool at 11pm which made... More

We stumbled across this place and stayed for 5 nights. Very clean, organized, quiet and close to all the attractions... Maybe a little too close to Kho San road as I was "forced" to do a little more shopping then I would have preferred, but access to the road is a very short walk. The Grand Palace is a little... Location could'nt be better. Nice swimming pool on the riverside. Breakfast served on the lovely terrace with sight on the activity on the water. Rooms on the back are nothing special, but adequate. Compared to other hotels in Banglamphu the New Siam is expensive. But overall we enjoyed our stay.

we stayed here for a few nights during out honeymoon and the location could not have been better. it was just a few minutes walk from Khaosan road (most popular tourist street in Bangkok) where we found loads of excellent deals and bought 90% of our souvenirs. The hotel itself was clean, with comfortable beds and good air conditioning. The... More

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
