I don't understand people who complain about budget hotels. If you want 5 star service with translators, book at 5 star hotels. It's that simple. Stayed here for a week and just needed a place to rest my head at night and for safekeeping of my Bangkok souvenir shopping. I am not disappointed. The staff, although, spoke basic English...we're very...

I had read reviews before booking room and even though they were rather poor we decided to go there. I'm not usually a picky person especially travelling through Asia, I was aware it's rather low budget option but after check out I said it out loud, Charlie House is was really bad place. At first sight it didn't seems so...

Many people gave a poor rating to Charlee house. I don't typically post reviews myself, but in light of these reviews, I feel the need. Yes, the decor is old and dingy, and the rooms are small. But the staff was very friendly and polite to us. The room was cleaned well daily. The air con worked great, good wifi,...

It was a flying visit (sorry!) but no complaints. Clean, lovely garden and helpful staff made sure I got to the airport on time. Hard to find if you don't know the area but call them and they will pick you up in a golf cart.

Although i clearly did not expect Charlie House to be anything fancy or even close to fancy, i was really disappointed by it. Some pros & cons of this guesthouse, in my opinion/experience: Cons: - Photos of room on their site are not what i saw in person (well, not with my single room anyway). - I had booked a...

We stayed here for the first few nights of our trip to Bangkok and used the place mainly just to get sorted, get over jetlag etc and I think this place is fine for that. The actual building is fairly run down but the rooms were pretty standard. This place does have a great location. It's close to a large...

Charlie guesthouse is not far away from the city centre and it's not expensive either. Me and my friend payed 450 Baht per night for a 2-bed dorm with aircondition and private bathroom. The staff had sometimes trouble with our English, but all in all we've understood each other. Our room was comfy and always kept clean. I can recommend...

I have stayed here a few times after getting fed up with the Khao san road, the best thing about Charlies is that it is only a 2 minute walk from the MRT (subway system) and a 10 minute walk to the Silom BTS (skytrain). A friend and I usually share a twin room costing 580 baht, that is with...

Stayed here in May 2013 as I took a CELTA course and the school promoted the guest house. I'm not sorry I stayed here. I did find a few other places that were a little better after I paid that I would have preferred. The owner is quite nice, if you drop laundry off at 8am it will be done...

Staying in Sathorn

Neighbourhood Profile
Sathorn
Sathorn is Bangkok’s central business district, but here you’ll find much more than international banks and suited-up office workers. Take a stroll along the small alleys between the skyscrapers and you’ll find yourself among Bangkokians living life at a much slower pace. Feast on fantastic Thai food which you can find in the town-house restaurants, office food courts and sidewalk food stalls spread all over the area, especially around St. Louis Hospital. A visit to Sathorn is not complete without a drink at one of the glitzy sky bars perched atop its skyscrapers.
