The owner is nice and let us choose which room we wanted between two that were open. However the entire place smells heavily of mold. This isn't unique for Bangkok but I ended up having an allergic reaction to it and felt like I was getting sick. I don't know if a deep-clean of the place would help or if...

This is not really a hotel. It is more like a serviced apartment / upscale Guesthouse. I went there first on my first backpacking trip through asia in 2008. I decided to spend my last days in Penguin house, because I had some money left (I used to stay in dirt cheap places before that) In 2014 I came back...

I've stayed at Penguin House on several occasions. Rooms are comfortable and very clean. There is a daily maid service. The man at the desk is always very helpful if you ask otherwise a quiet but friendly man. Speaks excellent English. There is now a café on the patio of Penguin House called "Flow". Run by a very nice guy...

The rooms are large and come with a large fridge. Has free wifi internet. Aircon works well and is quiet. The area around is very busy traffic wise in peak periods. Plenty of great eateries around. Close walk to Lumpinee MRT The gentleman at reception is very helpful and is simply a quiet man who can be quite friendly. I...

Good located, clean, and cheap. Room had enought space, AC, TV and huge fridge, The bad thing is that the bar is working from midday till 8 PM. So if you wake up in mornining there is no way to drink cafe or have a brekfast. Closed in sundays. But the street around is realy full with bars and restaurants...

Penguin House is a fantastic little place to stay on Soi Sribumpen. My partner and I took the "Deluxe" double room, and considering the price, we were amazed at the results: a huge room, sparsely but tastefully furnished, complete with a large window, two chairs, and even a full-sized fridge. We peeked into the other 'regular' rooms, and although they...

very clean place, in a good and quiet area, not far from the Lumphini station (8minutes by walk) with a lot of7/11 nearby. The owner seems quite detached, but in reality is very kind, it is just suffcient to ask and he will try to give you all the help you need!the rooms are large, with fridge and air condi...

Staying in Sathorn

Neighbourhood Profile
Sathorn is Bangkok’s central business district, but here you’ll find much more than international banks and suited-up office workers. Take a stroll along the small alleys between the skyscrapers and you’ll find yourself among Bangkokians living life at a much slower pace. Feast on fantastic Thai food which you can find in the town-house restaurants, office food courts and sidewalk food stalls spread all over the area, especially around St. Louis Hospital. A visit to Sathorn is not complete without a drink at one of the glitzy sky bars perched atop its skyscrapers.
