We've been staying here for 9 nights now and we love it. The beds are fine. They do use 2 twins together to make a double but we don't find it uncomfortable and honestly it's so hot in Thailand that it's unlikely you'll want to spoon all night. A double with fan, shared bathroom and wifi is 350 baht (total,...

We have stayed here so many times. It is super basic but cheap and cheerful. The staff aren't overly accommodating but they are friendly and we've never had any problems. This place is great if you want somewhere simple to crash which is clean with no frills. It is in a good location not quite as busy as Khao san...

It's in Soi Rambuttri, near Khao San road but not noisy like Khao San road. Near Grand Palace and near River (convenient to travel by boat). The room is small, no elevator so if your room in 6th floor its a problem. The bed is combined by two single bed so not comfortable. Price 450bth for double bed + hot...

I stayed here over 4 years ago ano now, and compared with the last stay, there is an improvement. This time, the room was better, cleaner, quieter, and overall more comfortable. Maybe the have made some improvements and replaced the paper-thin walls. The staff members were not too nice this time either. There is no free wifi, you have to...

As we had a month in thailand we used this place in Bangkok to keep going back to in between going north, south or east towards Cambodia. This place is cheap, around £7 per night for air-conditioning, twin bed, hot shower and clean. You can order food and drink downstairs too and chill and watch a movie. Great place if...

This guesthouse is so cheap... I was able to get my own room for the price of a dorm in another hostel! (You can pay a little extra for air con and wifi but i didn't) The location is also fabulous, near to transport, night markets, shops and a 5 minute walk to khao saan. It is very basic, but...

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.

“Rooms that are on the front face might be more loud, and the ones at tthe far end of the 2nd floor are above the kitchen and tend to get very hot. But there is plenty of rooms available, if you don't like it just change to the next one!”
