This guesthouse is so cheap... I was able to get my own room for the price of a dorm in another hostel! (You can pay a little extra for air con and wifi but i didn't) The location is also fabulous, near to transport, night markets, shops and a 5 minute walk to khao saan. It is very basic, but...

Really cheap but 2 times that I come in this place and definitely awful and terrible hospitality. They are pretty agressif even if you are kind with them, they don't really answer if you have some questions or maybe they don't really want to. Low music on a phone is prohibited front of the door after midnight. You can not...

Stayed in the basic fan rooms for 4 nights during our time in Bangkok. The first night we had one of the end rooms by the balcony and were kept awake all night by people drinking on the balcony. Outside the hotel's control but I'd recommend avoiding these rooms of you'd like to sleep! After that night we requested to...

I've been staying at this place for 10 years. And almost nothing has changed, rates, building, rooms, staff is almost the same. For 200 baht you can get a decent room with shower, it is really difficult to find anything similar in soi rambuttri area. I agree that the staff may be rude sometimes. But put yourselves in their position....

Honestly I can't prase this place enough. I found it when I was last in bangkok about teo years ago an I've stayed there everytime I've been back with friends. It's cheap an cheerful with a great social area downstairs that shows films three times a day. As others have said the rooms are pretty basic but the beds are...

I got the single room with fan and wifi (~270THB). Room had a single bed and a table+in-room bathroom. Nothing special - low standard. Not much noise. The staff behaved like they were forced to work there (not really friendly).

It is cheap and cheerful. The rooms are basic but have fan or air con. I've stayed in both and they are both fine. The bathrooms are basic thai ones but are clean. It is secure and in a great location; round the corner from khao san road and near a whole load of bars/restaurant/clubs. It is also next door...

Great for solo travellers, or groups of friends. For many years my favourite place to stay in Bangkok. The main selling point is the reception area / restaurant, which the long communal couches turn into a fantastic place to meet other travellers. The food there is very good, and they have a very good coffee machine! The rooms are functional...

...what to say. It was okay, since we only needed a spot to get some sleep. And if you come home drunk you will find some sleep everywhere. Our room was in the top floor so we could have used a shower everytime after going up. But they were not that clean, so we did not use them that often....

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
