Khaosan Baan Thai is just a 5 minute walk away from the busy life of Khao San Road. You can find the place in a small and quit street. The staff is very friendly and speak English very well. The rooms are small but clean and you share the bathrooms and toilets (which are also very clean) with the other...

What an awesome place to stay! It's clean and simple. The people working there helped me to get my bag back, which stayed behind in Hong Kong. Being in an affordable part of Bangkok, it makes for a wonderful experience.

Great price for a great location in the old center of the city. Rooms are clean and cosy. Nothing luxurious and bathroom are in hallway but everything is very clean. People working there are very friendly and helpful. They respond to emails very fast as well. Breakfast is not luxurious as well (two eggs, sausage, toast and butter/honey) but again,...

Situated in a lovely quiet area yet close to the bustling tourist area of Khaosan Rd (10 min walk away), this guesthouse offers the perfect location in Bangkok. Staff were very friendly and accommodating, and the breakfast was first rate - much better than many other PAID breakfasts we've experienced! The room was great (we had pink room), the only...

My friends and I stayed at the guesthouse for 2 nights. We had a very welcoming reception and didnt have any waiting around to do which was great after a long flight. The staff are very friendly and were able to help us with anything we needed. The rooms arent fancy but are ideal for a short stay and kept...

My friend and I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. We initially planned to stay for 4 nights but changed our plans last minute; we emailed the hotel and were told this was not a problem. The room itself was a good size and very pretty. The beds were two mattresses on the floor which were okay, but not...

Very well located about 5 mins walk from Khao San road so it's nice and quiet. The only noise then is that of other guests with the paper-thin walls. Breakfast is average but does the job and for the price is fine. Everything is nice and clean and wifi is good.

This guesthouse is great if you are after a bargain- £12 per night for two for an air conditioned room is not too shabby! It is basic though- the mattresses are hard and you have to share the bathroom, which can be an issue if someone is showering and you need the loo! The location is great- a short walk...

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.

“There are stairs here regardless of what room you are in. If you find stairs difficult, you may want to ask if you can arrange for a first floor room so that you only have to tackle one flight of steps.”
