I stayed here for 2 nights. The hotel has pros and cons: Pros: central location, close to BTS, friendly staff, good breakfast Cons: busy and overcrowded, room was dusty and had ants. The doors slam shut very loud, waking you up multiple times during the night. There is no shower curtain so the bathroom floor get soaked. I would not stay here again.

Rooms are clean. Have a bathtub which is a plus. Very breakfast is okay but location quite a bit far than expected. All in all just worth the price. If you plan to just have a short trip this will do.

I think that Bangkok City Hotel is a very good hotel based on my stay many times. I usually book by TripAdvisor as it has special deals. The room is very clean and tidy. The bedsheets and mattresses are very clean. The AC is also amazing. The hotel is located in the center of Bangkok where I can walk to any places such as restaurants and malls. The price of the room is also very affordable for a 3-star hotel with such good services and amenities. They also offer free breakfast to all guests despite of any type of room. I would recommend Bangkok City Hotel to any tourists visiting Bangkok.

Room is clean, the staff are friendly and they attend to you fast when required. Breakfast is included and its included when u pay for your room. Eat all you want. There's a coffee machine at the lobby which serve you 24/7 free of charge. The best part is that there's a bubble tea kiosk and seating area at the front of the hotel for you to watch the hustle and bustle of bangkok's buzy road while enjoying your drinks. There's also 7-Eleven and ATM which are located beside the hotel. 5-10mins walk to pratunam shopping area, platinum mall, big C, central world, etc. And not to forget a 5min walk to the nearest BTS station. Overall, i would say this hotel is perfectly located and well run. 👍👍

I highly recommend this hotel, great value for the price we paid. But lemme just point out some issues we encountered during our stay. We booked two rooms, the other one had an issue regarding the air conditioner. It was not cooling the room properly. When we told the front desk about it, they immediately provided us a portable air conditioner. It was space consuming but worked really well. Thank you to the hotel staff for the speedy response. Oh, and, we had a hard time taking a bath due to the placement of the shower in the bathroom. It was not practical. You could definitely make some improvements.

I spent 1 night here and had a pleasant stay. It’s walking distance to the BTS and airport link. The staff were friendly and professional. Rooms were clean and comfortable. My only complaints were that the doors are loud when they close so I was woken up multiple times throughout the night and early morning from people coming and going for their rooms. Also, there was no curtain or door for the shower so the bathroom gets soaked when you have a shower. Overall this is a nice hotel that I can recommend.

We stayed as a family with a 3 year old kid. We had inconvenience with the keycard as it is not working with the lift and we ask assistance every time we go up. The reception staff (I wasn't able to get the name) rudely told us to come down at the lobby, when we asked where could we get spoon and fork at around 9-10PM, as nobody can send it to the room. My kid and I went down to get it and give us the disposable one. As the keycard is not working, we came back to the reception and they said, our card is working fine as per checking in their system. My child said, "Mama, we can not go up in the elevator." and another staff mentioned (the supervisor, I think) that was because we are supposed to be staying in the room and should not be there, speaking directly to my kid in a child talk. I didn't answered back and argue, for we all know why we went down at the lobby. After some time of checking, they didn't change the card or fix the problem, Choung which is another staff at the reception sees what is happening and offered to assist us in the lift. The breakfast offered is quite good. It does not have much options but you have the choices. At times, you wait to be seated for many guests are here by the time of our stay (last week of December). The location is favourable, convenient stores are left and right, even the street foods. We walked from MBK Center to the hotel and even the Pratunam Market is quite nearby. The 11th floor room we have had offers a nice city view. The pool on the 5th floor is closed at 8:00PM even if the staff mentioned that it will be closed at 9:00 PM. When we were there, that was before 8:00PM, they off the lights and we are forced to stop swimming. We didn't stay the room/hotel all the time as we are wandering around the city. But so far, you can still see the good and the bad on how they handled their guests. I commend the reception staffs, Choung and Mind for helping us out most especially the keycard concern which until the checkout date is still a problem. And the concierge that help us with the direction. We can still say we have had a nice stay in this property and will be looking forward to stay here again in the future, with a recommendation, that the reception staff should be more polite and be trained on how to communicate properly.

I have had a bad experience with the rude front desk staff. At the check in day, our family had three people staying at the hotel and I am just the visiting guest (I am local so I don't stay) and she was already informed that there will be three people checking in. She got us the room with two twin beds without us knowing. When we were about to leave the counter and walked towards the elevator, she yelled at us from across the hallway "you have three people, you need to purchase for an extra bed".  Her voice was ***so loud*** and the tone was ***so condescending*** as if she thought we were trying to cheat and snug the third person in without paying. We agreed to get the extra bed and decided to pay at the time of check out.  The same night we called the front desk to ask for three sets of silverware to be delivered to the room. She answered the phone and she told me to get it downstairs at the front desk. (This is weird coz in any other hotel they would deliver them to the room). I came downstairs and told them that I called about the silverware. One of the staff members went to the silverware drawer and trying to get the silverware for me. Ray was looking at me and asked another staff member "what does he want?" with the ***same loud condescending tone and the unfriendly eye contact*** That makes me uneasy as if she was accusing me of stealing.  The second night, I and my family came back from outside and walked pass the front desk where Ray was stationing at the time. She yelled at us again "you need to pay for the extra bed"; out of nowhere with out any greetings with the same condescending tone. My mom asked how much and she told 900 baht total. I asked her that we decided to pay at the time of the check out, right? And she agreed.  AGAIN, THIS IS UNPROFESSIONAL AS IF SHE DIDN'T TRUST US.  Then I told her to speak nicely to the patrons and she replied even louder than before across the hallway with the same condescending and angrier tone "WHAT DID I DO WRONG? YOU TELL ME?" So I asked for the her manager's phone number and email to file a complaint on her. I also made the payment on the extra bed right away just to shut her up even though I am not the staying guest.  I have stayed in many hotels around the world. Even the small hotel with no stars, I have NEVER IN MY LIFE encountered any more ruder staff like Ray. This hotel receives 3 stars for a reason. Without Ray, it could be an easy 4.  Ray should be working somewhere else, not in the hotel industry. She would scare the hell out of many other customers staying at this hotel.

The priority of this hotel is price, location and food. Beside these, it really make me feel uncomfortable. Before booking, i called to ask the staff that is it okay to put an extra bed for standard room? She said yes. When we arrive to hotel to check in,we were told by the staff that actually standard room can't add an extra bed. I said i called to ask already. They say whom do you ask? I feel like....! Finally extra bed come after we are in room for almost 2 hours. Furthermore, air-condition not working, they come to fix it after i told them 3 times within 5 hours. You guy don't just realize it's cheap and choose. You can pay a little higher than this at another hotel to get a better service. Highly not recommended especially for family trips.
