We had a great meal of local foods while looking over the river. Good food & drinks, good service & reasonable price. A wide enough selection on the menu to satisfy most tastes. The view is very enjoyable.

A perfect place for a romantic diner, you have a beautiful view on Chao Praya river and wat Arun. The food is excellent. Thai people say this restaurant is located on angel road between both temples, wat arun and wat Po. Enjoy you stay !

What a view! The other half found this gem. We arrived on an early flight which I emailed the hotel beforehand. They stored our luggage whilst we explored for morning, near by Grand Palace and Watt Pho. Tuk Tuk's were cheap to the main areas in the evening. You have barter! Found the area peaceful in the evening and slept...

My sister and I have booked this hotel on our new year holidays. I think we have got an upgrade from the hotel and the view was excellent! We have got riverside room and it was facing to Wat arun. The hotel location is close to Wat Pho Wat Pra Keaw and very easy to cross to Wat Arun at...

We had booked a deluxe room facing the Chao Phraya river and Wat Arun. We got room “Chiangsan” on the 1st floor of Sala Arun facing Wat Arun (with exhaust fan of the hotel restaurant on the balcony, be aware of the noise!). View to Wat Arun from some riverside rooms can be blocked by the tree in front of...

When we arrived we were upgraded and sot the suite om the top floor: beautiful view over the river and Wat Arun that literally beams into the room at night; on the other side of the apartment, though the bathroom window, there is a view on Wat Pho... hard to beat. Note however that the room can be noisy in...

We did not stay but came here to have lunch. Great view and good food. I needed to breastfeed and I had the cloth to cover myself. but the waitress offered me to use the unoccupied room without me asking for it. Very service-minded! Thank you! Do not get confused this hotel with Sala Rattanakosin which is right next door!...

We stayed here for the 1st night of our honeymoon before going off to Chiang Mai - the room was clean with private balcony overlooking the river with an amazing view of Wat Arun - the restaurant also directly overlooks the river with stunning views and great introduction to Bangkok. This is a great place to stay for a couple...

From one's balcony, looking across the river at the Temple of the Dawn, is one of those rare, "Honey this is unbelievable" experiences. While the rooms are a bit dated, the stairs a bit of a chore and entrance through what seems to be an alley, the smiling, highly responsive staff and dining/drinking facilities with spectacular vistas more than make...

The view was as advertised and my husband loved it. The room was small and the hotel needs some TLC. The balcony that we had was certainly not as the picture that they have posted but perhaps that was another room. I paid more for night than any other hotel we stayed during our six weeks in Thailand and getting...

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
