Rooms small but had a TV and a safe. Breakfast was a kind of buffet style with eggs and fruit selection. Staff were friendly. Having the rooftop pool really made it an oasis from the hustle and bustle of the khaosan road. This of course makes it a little more expensive than others. However after a long journey it is...

We arrived to the hotel around 9pm and found a very unhelpful and unfriendly night staff. We asked questions and they were rude and unaccomidating. The rooms were clean, which was helpful. However, this is the loudest place I have ever slept in. You can hear all the music and noise from Khaosan Road, and people in the hotels party...

First night: 5 Stars Second night: 1 Stars We booked only one night at this hotel originally but needed to extend by one night so we did. They didn't have the same room type available for our second night that they had for our first night so we downgraded to a smaller room. FIRST NIGHT: This first night was great....

We got this hotel quite cheap not realising the location. This hotel is on the main Bangkok strip of khaosan road, we were dreading the noise! The hotel room was clean, good size, good air con and clean bathroom. The bed was comfy! With being right in the centre we thought we were going to hear all the noise from...

The hotel is decent but we was unlucky to have a room at the front, just getting there from a 16 hour flights it was horrible lying there for hours even with earplugs in it was so loud, thought the speakers were in our room, hotel is good though and they got a rooftop pool great touch for the morning...

This is a very good hotel with two swimming pools. You can also stay in the lobby and enjoy coffee. There's a subway resto and 7 11 stores down stairs. It's a backpacers haven yet excellent service. Also in the lower level are travel and tours agency where you can book for a tour package. i have been here 3...

Love coming to the Khao San...just for a few days of madness and mayhem! This was the first time we stayed at the Khao San Palace and although a bit more expensive than other options, we felt it was worth the money. The rooms are clean and comfortable and after 6 weeks of cold showers, the hot shower was very...

Welcoming, helpful staff and spot bang in the middle of Bangkok's nightlife. Great hotel and good value for money too! Just be warned that anywhere if you stay down Khaosan Road you will be listening to music until the early hours of the morning.

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
