Taxis are very cheap in Bangkok, but the traffic is awful. I had a transfer, but took another long distance taxi journey to the outskirts (45 mins) which cost around £10. There may be a fixed rate, have you investigated this? I'd be very surprised if you ended up spending more than £15.
Ops sorry Danny, ignore my first anwser to you Royal Princess hotel is far from any BTS/Skyline. The only way to travel is either tuktuk/taxi or public bus to town center. The hotel quite far from central.
