We stayed 3 nights in the Grand China Princess Hotel in Bangkok's China Town (Yowaraj) area. The room was clean, neat and average, but good value for the price. Our balcony overlooked an older part of the city as well as the river, so the night time view was nice. During the day, the location of the Grand China Princess...

Check around the online booking sites as there's often some very good deals. We had a deluxe room on the 19th floor (Room 1901) on a 'stay 4 pay 3', with the deluxe room upgrade from a superior for just a couple of dollars a night, breakfast included. And what a breakfast! Possibly the best breakfast we have ever experienced,...

I have stayed several times at Grand China and also recommended it to my friends. The hotel is very well situated, in the middle of lively China Town and it´s several good, local restaurants, shops and life. The hotel itself says it´s 4*, but I would say it´s 3*. Anyway, the great situation is the main thing, so this is...

We stayed at the Grand China Princess for 4 nights and could not fault the hotel. Accommodation was clean and functional with all services working as they should, the breakfast was extensive with all tastes, both Asian and Western catered for. The hotel is located in Chinatown which is a great spot for shopping with the locals shopping there too....

We recently had our honeymoon in Thailand, and stayed a total of two nights (out of 5 booked) at this hotel. We arrived in Bangkok and stayed here, then went on to an island and returned to this hotel for another night. We were given an upgrade to a "deluxe room" but there was NOTHING deluxe about it other than...

The foyer was very modern with alot of amenities. Booked our tours through them. Concierge was helpful and friendly, staff where you book in were not so welcoming or friendly. Tour organiser was excellent. Rooms were clean but average.

Staying in Chinatown / Yaowarat

Neighbourhood Profile
Chinatown / Yaowarat
Better known as 'Yaowarat' among locals, Chinatown is Bangkok's bustling district that never sleeps. During the day, the main street and its small alleyways are filled with a vibrant mix of colours, scents and flavours coming from the roadside restaurants and all-day markets. The real action, however, happens after sunset. Surrounded by neon lights, Thais and tourists alike flock here around dinnertime to feast on some of the best street food in town. Escape the chaos by venturing a little further from the main road and discover hidden shrines, friendly locals and daily life in its purest form.
