The place to stay in Bangkok. The service and hotel facilities were exceptional. We were given a room with a river view. It was like having a circus out the window, non-stop boat traffic, very entertaining. We had breakfast at their buffet and dinner in the dining room which were all very good. There is also a bar for after...

Very expensive yet understated elegance. Rooms can be very expensive with space and more silk. Lord Jim's is great place for huge buffet. Views from the better rooms are some of the best in Bangkok of the river life...but no balconies (which can be found at the Krung Tep Wing of the Shangri-la). Service is what makes this the business...

We really indulged during this experience, we stated in the Author's Suite. The MO lobby is so impressive, a must see. Our room was tastefully appointed with a stunning view of the river, watch the boats go by while having a cocktail on your own private balcony is incredible.

I would recommend the Mandarin Oriental Hotel most highly to anyone visiting Bangkok. We had a most comfortable stay in one of the very best hotels in the world. The staff could not do enough for us and the ambience was excellent.

This is our fourth stay at the hotel, the first time we went was around 1999 and they still know how to make you feel special. From the personal check in all services provided are excellent, you are made to you are the only guests that matter to them. From the setting to the comfort of your room and the...

My husband and I have stayed at a few MOs all around the world and have always been impressed. The kindness/level of service of the staff is beyond compare and this location is perhaps the pinnacle of all MOs. Everyone was so helpful with restaurant reservations, directions and tips for points of interest. We had dinner at three of the...

We went for a family wedding there and we travelled with an elderly who couldn't walk any long distance, we decided to stay at MO so she doesn't have to travel around. I've stated that we might need a wheelchair when we arrive and also some other requests, the hotel responded nicely and after we arrived, everyone was so nice...

What impressed me and I enjoyed the most was the beautiful swimming pool (which I had all to myself on the day I visited) -- perfect for swimming laps in a luxurious, tropical setting. To be honest, I could have stayed in the pool all day long and considered the trip a huge success, but then I would have missed...

Staying in Silom

Neighbourhood Profile
Silom
Despite the lack of any major tourist attractions, this lively neighborhood is a favorite of many. Whether it's the (somewhat naughty) nightlife of Soi Patpong, the various handicraft night markets or the plethora of dining options that tickle your fancy, a night out in Silom is a must on every itinerary. It's worth a stop during daytime, too: join office workers on a quest to tasty street food during lunch and shop at Silom Complex for a great mix of Thai and international stores. After a day of strolling around the congested sidewalks, a visit to Silom's Lumphini Park, Bangkok's answer to NYC's Central Park, is a welcome change of scenery.
