Visited Bangkok for business in March 2017, based at Ambassador Hotel. Fine for business base, conference centre and facilities good. Wifi is rather hit and miss as reported here - FaceTime a no go! Rooms in main wing are tired and need updating - bathroom subject to flooding and room very basic but adequate for business needs. Food in hotel...

The Ambassador hotel, Bangkok located at Sukhumvit, Soi 11, close to Nana Sky Train station and all amenities. The hotel is also located steps away from amazing eateries, shops and big malls. During our recent visit, we stayed at Tower Wing, 22nd floor. with nice view, large room with all modern facilities. Good Wifi and hose keeping service. Whenever we...

Stayed here, in the main wing, for work, and found that the hotel has everything that we needed, even though the rooms are tired. The staff are courteous and helpful, and the restaurant serves some delicious Thai food. It's clearly a busy choice for both tourists and business users, so there are plenty of opportunities for people-watching. The swimming pool...

Nice, clean rooms at a decent price in a great area of BKK. This is a very busy hotel so don't expect a speedy check-in or check-out. The staff were nice enough though and willing to work with me on a misunderstanding. All and all, a professional place if not a little stiff.

Normal Hotel, nothing special. It's looks like Shopping Center not a Hotel, where every step you make someone offer you something, a Hotel is for relax. Be careful one the Reception with giving your CREDIT CARD, they charge me a deposit for the mini bar without my permission, unacceptable if you not control your Bank Account and you don't see...

Nice hotel we stayed in the tower wing which was fairly modern. Would stay here again deffently. Would have gave 5 stars if breakfast was included with more variety. All in all was good and close to everywhere.

Staying in Sukhumvit

Neighbourhood Profile
Sukhumvit
With a mix of shopping malls, hip bars and food stalls lining both sides of Thailand’s longest road, you’ll rarely encounter a dull moment along Sukhumvit. While the main road itself doesn't offer a lot in terms of entertainment, it's the adjoining 'sois' (alleys) where the magic happens. Popular spots are soi 11 for a lively night out, soi 4 for naughty nightlife and soi 21 for world-class shopping at Terminal 21. It's hard to cover everything this area has to offer in on day, so be sure to take your time. Sukhumvit is heavily congested with traffic during day and night, so getting from A to B is most convenient using the BTS Skytrain right above it.

Hi everyone, our family has been staying at Ambassador Hotel on our annual Bangkok Vacation for the last 15 years and we love it as it feels like home and the area is just unbeatable!

The last time I went there was in April 2014 and on this trip we noticed the hotel has fallen a few steps back from what it was compared to 2013. A few things I would like to know :

1. The A/C in the Reception area used to be really good and refreshing to walk into after a full day of shopping but in 2014 the A/C was literally non existent, so what I want to know is - was it temporary or is it still the same ?

How about the A/C in the Tower Wing Ground floor lift area (near the fish tanks ?) and in the AM Cafe. We usually hang around these areas hence the concern.

2. We always stay in the Tower Wing and have found that the Rooms and Washrooms were quite good (no foul smell, cockroaches etc) is the standard still the same in the tower wing?

The house keeping in the tower wing used to do an awesome job cleaning the rooms, how is it now ?

3. Is the hotel still happening like it used to be ? One plus point for this hotel used to be that it was never boring (people always in the lobby area etc).

These questions might be weird to some but this year we will be spending around 17 days during the Christmas and new year season in Bangkok and can't let anything spoil our holiday as it is a very special one this year! if the hotel has really gone down we might have to look for a replacement hotel - sadly :(

Thanks,

Jamie - Sri Lanka.
