This is where our group tour ended so being part of such a group we were in one of the budget rooms, even so it was a very comfortable, pleasant room. The staff and service were fantastic, as was the breakfast and we felt like we were in much better than budget accomodation. This hotel is also situated in a... More

As previously reviewed, I like this hotel. I like its location, staff and the size of its rooms. I would like to advise travellers that the hotel is in the process of upgrading its rooms and thus there is a degree of upheaval. The reception is now shared with the upmarket sister hotel, 'Nuovo' and I experienced a small amount... More

This hotel is situated in a great spot. I stayed here for a night before starting a group tour. While I had no hot water and I may have gotten bed bugs the breakfast and location made up for that. There was a nice view from my room which was nice to see the sun come up over the city.... More

Firstly, we were quite confusing with the address - 2 hotels, 1 name (Nouvo City Hotel) when we checked in, they have 2 front desks, 1 for New World Hotel (on the left) and 1 for Nouvo City Hotel (on the right). The New World Hotel was under construction for renovation. The receptionist and staffs was really nice and charming.... More

There's three things I look for in hotels - cleanliness, location and staff. And this place definitely tick these three things for me. It's a budget hotel with 3 star rating. It's clean, well maintained, the staff are friendly and helpful and a short 5 minute walk to Khao San Road. Behind the hotel is a river. There's free internet... More

The best thing about this hotel is the location. Five minute walk to Khao San Road which is great as there are lots of places to eat, lots of things to see, shopping, street food and a really good lively atmosphere. The hotel has a 7/11 next door, various shops and a laundrette opposite which is handy for travellers. The... More

Yogurt is plentiful staff is good mannered and hospitable. Rooms are clean and dainty. Seasonal fruits is also on the breakfast item. Just right for budget travelers.

After 9 hours bus journey from Siem Riep a nice welcome would have been nice, but the FO staff were not very helpful not friendly more like we had inconvenienced them with our arrival. They had no maps of the local area, struggled to understand what we were asking generally and then struggled to organise a taxi on our departure.... More

I stayed here as part of a Gecko's Tour - being the 3rd hotel I stayed in during my stay in Bangkok - the rooms are not so up-to-date, though when you step out and see the atmosphere surrounding and the little cafe/restaurants and small shops along the quiet streets, you realise why Gecko's include this in their itinerary, it... Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
