Our second stay at this well located hotel on the river at the end of Rambuttri and Khosan roads, pier 13 for river express boats 4 mins walk. Rooms are not cheap! We always book the 'Premium room' of which there are 10. These are extra long rooms with balcony on either the 2nd or 3rd floor. The rooms on...

We were so pleased to be staying here. Our room had a lovely view of the river and was quiet. Lovely riverside breakfast and dining, comfy sun beds for relaxing. Really helpful reception staff who helped with siteseeing queries. Altogether the perfect choice in Bangkok.

We found the hotel in TripAdvisor. We stayed here for one week during an extended asia trip. We liked the hotel, the service was friendly and efficient, the hotel was clean and nicely decorated. Be aware this is a noisy place. On both sides. You have to choose between the street noise or the boats on the river which are...

A very beautiful hotel, in a great location, genuinely nice staff, wonderful view, amazing breakfast and exquisite lunch. Very spacious room, great attention to detail (the interior design, toiletries, etc). Can not wait to come back to this little paradise.

My wife and I have just returned from a short trip to Bangkok, where we stayed at the Riva Surya and the St Regis. The Riva Surya is a small hotel on the river in what I'd describe as an 'old town' part of the city. It is within easy walking distance of the Grand Palace, the Wat Pho temple...

We were only here for a night, and it couldn't have been more perfectly sited. It's quite near the Palace, and even nearer some really fun lanes with great souvenir stalls and nice restaurants and bars. It's a very comfortable place, the staff are a bit slow - they forgot we'd ordered food so we ended up going elsewhere for...

This is a very nice hotel, excellent location on the riverfront on the edge of the backpackers area of Bangkok. Everything in the room worked well, nothing to fault. Breakfast buffet was ok but staff attending could do considerably better. The sun deck and beautiful 'poolette' and magnificent balconies may be a bit deceptive: do not expect the calm and...

We're really glad we booked this hotel as a base for the Bangkok leg of our trip. The location is great. It was a short walk from Khao San Road, mostly along pedestrian streets. It was also right next to a river taxi stop that we used to get to the temples and points south. The hotel itself is lovely....

The Riva Surya is a boutique hotel in Bangkok. The room was clean & well appointed. We had a river front room with a terrace. The staff was very friendly & helpful. The breakfast had a wide variety of choices, including a grill person making all types of eggs, & french toast, etc. I would recommend this hotel.

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
