More neglected than budget. Far enough away from Kho Sann Road to be comfortable but near to Banglampoo village. It has a lovely feel to it and good staff. The facilities are fine (fridge, tv, safe etc) but our room was a bit shabby - could do with a repaint and a shower room refit. However, it has more soul...

Budget guest house near to the heart of backpackers district. Plenty of local eateries though it also has its own restaurant. Swimming pool and WiFi, cold water only at wash basin. Safe and refrigerator in room.

Good hotel, with Pool and fridge in room. The bed was comfortable and shower was hot and it wasn't too noisy, which is all we wanted really. 10 mins walk to khao San road, so pretty good location too.

Stayed here a couple of times during my stay in Thailand. The accomodation is near Kohan San Road and markets, food and bars. The accomodation is basic but clean and safe (there is also a safe in the room). During my stay there was construction work next door, which did mean that i was woken up early in the morning.

Stayed here for 2 nights and it was delightful! Rooms nicely decorated and very clean which wasn't really expected from such a cheap, basic accommodation. The staff were very helpful and friendly throughout our stay, I would defiantly recommend this guest house

We have staywd at New Siam II many times and love it. Convenient yet quiet location within easy walk to Khao San rd (if you want) and markets and also close to river. Lovely cool, breezy and casual restaurant/cafe area next to pool. Great if you have kids. You can have a coffee/read while they swim. Staff always helpful. Rooms...

Nice little place with a little swimming pool, perfect for after exploring Bangkok. Food is amazing ans all staff really friendly. Construction work going ahead next door so If you're looking to relax during the day forget it :). All rooms really nice and clean, close to Koh san road but not to close.

You can do better for the money. Smallish room. No food. Decent bathroom. Clean. Inexpensive. Nice host. Okay good within walking distance. It has a backpacker Khao San road feel but believe me, in Thailand a little research will put you in a better hotel for the same rate

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
