Friendly staff, spacious rooms, good restaurant and location, location, location! With dozens gay (and staright) bars and clubs all around. Also, easy to get from and to the aiprport as the motorway excit is pretty close.

I have stayed here many times over the years and recommended it to lots of friends. It is overpriced but I always justified this because of all the little special touches. Now under new management and those special touches are gone. Right from my arrival they failed to meet me at the airport as booked. Restaurant times are reduced, as...

Stayed here five or six times back in 2011-2012. It's a great location for special attractions in the area and convenient to the night market and restaurants. It was always comfortable and clean. Four years later it's really showing its age. Still clean and comfortable and good location, but needs an update. If it were cheaper, you could ignore the...

I hadn't been to this hotel in a few years after several yearly visits a decade ago, but still found it to be good value. I was pleased to find the same familiar elevator, valet and restaurant staff, though the front desk had all new people. My room was clean, albeit basic, and the breakfast is still quite good, with...

Once again this year I stayed at the Tantawan twice while passing through Bangkok. The first stay was perfect as usual, but I timed it badly during my second stay at the beginning of October, while the new owners were taking over. For some reason they sacked all the front desk staff, and left it to the administrators to battle...

I booked the hotel through a site and was happy to see that it was centrally located. The pictures are quite different from the reality. The hotel is quite outdated and the rooms while clean have smelly carpets and outdated furniture. The views are not too charming either. The staff was polite and efficient but the hotel is not a...

A friend of ours who had stayed here before advised us to specifically book a smoking room on the top floor and we're glad we did, else we would have been obliged to come out of the hotel every time we wanted to smoke. Tarntawan Place is very well located, opposite more expensive hotels like Le Meridien and Tawan. For...

Staying in Silom

Neighbourhood Profile
Silom
Despite the lack of any major tourist attractions, this lively neighborhood is a favorite of many. Whether it's the (somewhat naughty) nightlife of Soi Patpong, the various handicraft night markets or the plethora of dining options that tickle your fancy, a night out in Silom is a must on every itinerary. It's worth a stop during daytime, too: join office workers on a quest to tasty street food during lunch and shop at Silom Complex for a great mix of Thai and international stores. After a day of strolling around the congested sidewalks, a visit to Silom's Lumphini Park, Bangkok's answer to NYC's Central Park, is a welcome change of scenery.
