Off a busy street with businesses and street venders of all types, ideal location for seeing real Bangkok. Yet once behind its glass doors it is an old style traditional woodern Thai house with good basic service and very helpful staff to help answer your questions on where to go. This is an old classic Thai , not a modern...

This guesthouse let you feel the charm of a real Thai house. It is conveniently located near Khao San Road, and there are pleanty of nice restaurants nearby. The rooms are very clean and they provide all the essentials (towels, shampoo etc). But it is a bit more expensive than other options you can find in BKK

Dear Khun Benej Thank you very much for your kind comments. I am glad you had a nice time with us in Baan Chantra. I agree with you that our room rates are a bit more expensive than other options. However, with all the amenities and services included in the room rate, I am certain it is worth the money...

The bed was very good, and we had no problem with the traffic noise(since we use AC and the bed is not close to the window, our room was Chantra.). The breakfast is amazing and they even have Thai food option. They recommended us a Thai restaurant nearby, massage place, called taxis and explained for them were we wanted to...

You feel like you are staying at friend's home! The owner and staff are amazing from arranging an airport pickup, taking care of our laundry, calling for dinner reservations, and sightseeing advice. So warm and friendly...and the best croissants for breakfast! The owner even called the taxi company and got ahold of the driver as we were leaving for the...

Stayed 2 nights, the first night was downstairs. The smell in the room was putrid. The septic smell permeates through the room from the bathroom. On the second night moved upstairs where the room was lovely, a complete contrast. The upstairs room was very noisy with the main road traffic and car races late at night but its much better...

I love everything about this little guest house in the old part of Bangkok. The location is fabulous, you can walk to the palace and river easily. The staff is so sweet, always smiling and accommodating, very friendly. The upstairs rooms are very nice, spacious, really clean and nicely decorated. I wanted to stay someplace that felt like one was...

We chose to stay here because of the reviews and were not disappointed. The owner greeted us with a welcoming smile (and a cold drink!) even though we checked in in the middle of the night! Our room and the building was clean and charming. Breakfast was delicious and the owner and staff were fantastic. They generously assisted us with...

Kathilda and her friendly staff made our 3 night stay in an area very close to the khao san district an absolute pleasure. Kathilda speaks very good english and is a wealth of useful tourist info even providing us with some great suggestions for our next stop in chiang mai. We chose the slightly more expensive back room on the...

This place gives you the feeling of being home away from home. Very charming owner and friendly, helpful staff. The rooms are clean, nicely decorated and the whole house has a colonial atmosphere. It's close to Khaosan, but in a quieter and more charming surrounding full of nice cafés and restaurants. Only two-floor-buildings around. Close to the river. We can...

This stay was one of our favorites throughout our entire trip. We booked it last minute , as we arrived into Bangkok at about 1am. We were greeted with open arms and there was no issue with booking so late. The owner and her employees were more than helpful and spoke English very well. She also suggested our stay in...

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
